I have seen a ton of these and you look and people say "ohh look theres a plane" and they even highlight it and its just rocks or natural formations.
This is the first one i have seen that actually looks man made, very impressive, and very confusing to me right now, S & F!!!

I was talking to an engineer at Nasa today in conversation he mentioned that it takes a year to get to mars. They are developing new technology specifically in the commercial sector to shorten this time. The thought is to build observation stations on Mars' moon to better observe Mars. He said that it was easier to observe from the moon than Mars. Mars has more orbiting sattelites than any other planet besides Earth.

I think it is very likely that we have a base there on Mars. We have been orbiting it since the 60's. I would not be suprised if this is US operations on Mars. He also mentioned that much of this exploration was geared by GW Bush.

I must admit that I did get rather excited at first glance - but after ArMaP posted the images which clearly show these 'entrances' to be some stitching anomolies on GE, I'm feeling rather disappointed to say the least! Nice find though marsorbust, here's hoping that one day soon, someone will stumble across irrefutable evidence.

Thanks to all for the nice comments even though it may have turned out to be related to the texture overlap or stitch. It was a worthwhile look and hey, I learned something also from 2 great ATS'ers, Julie and ArMap.

Once again someone using google Mars pics zooooommmmed in so far beyond the resolution of the picture, what you are seeing are the pixels of the picture not the DETAIL in the picture, go and learn a little about how digital images work before posting nonsense like this!

This thread was already discussed and several people presented the true origin of these artifacts, stop wasting ATS bandwidth resurrecting dead threads.

And you're actually wrong, that IS detail in the picture, but it originated from a completely different cause, these are just artifacts produced while pasting and merging the original source pictures. Go and learn a little about how digital images really work.
