nah, here's a good video of an iphone tutorial with nin. It looks like a really good app. It explains how you can link up with other members without having to wear the hat.

Yea3h, the iphone has built in gps.

Another alternative is to use the various RSS feeds for the topics you follow and set them up in Google Reader. It makes reviewing current topics much easier via mobile / iPhone.

The only dedicated iPhone application I would like to see for ATS would be a better posting interface. The Safari browser works fine w/ the iPhone typing functions but it could be much better. A size and layout of the posting screen more suitable for the mobile screen would be a good place to start.

...Sheesh! Younger people these days. Next thing ya' now, they'll be wondering what DOS was.

There could be an i ap that would have the locations of ats members online on a map or something, and you could see who lives near you, so you could buddy up with people who live near you.

In truth, I'd prefer not. If the government wants to track me down for what I post on ATS, then I don't want it to get that easy for 'em...Make 'em work at it!

If I ever get a car with GPS installed, you can guess at least a handful of wiring is going in the trash can before I even turn the key in the ignition.

you mean you're more worried about the government tracking you down than meeting new people with the same interests, and making new friends?

Wow, you sound like a real dangerous guy or girl. Do you have any war stories about being tracked down yet?

Living on the edge must be so exciting, how many states are you a fugitive in? What's your secret, I'll tell you mine. Does your watch tell time like mine does?

How long have you been on the run? Psss.....I heard the government is currently monitoring the post on tony blair, stay as low as you can. Last week they arested that guy who started the thread in the breaking alternative forum. If you want to buy a bridge it's only five dollars.

Are you a right wing Bourne Again? Posting on ats is so dangerous i'm thinking about getting insurance. You should start a thread about what it's like to live so dangerously here on ats. How many wives do you have? How many tatoos? Oh, before I carried away, there are so many questions I have for you, were to begin?

Lastly, if you find out we live in the same town and we could be hanging out right now, you're going to get really pissed. I better get insurance for that as well. The gift that we have as a community is overwhelming. Do you know how many members there are here on ats altogether? Your phone has a gps in it already, are you going to take it out?
These apps would only be options. I feel compelled to keep n touch, I can't breathe, in here.

Apple "stole" the graphic interface technology and the use of a mouse from Xerox. Microsoft, in turn "stole" the same technology from Apple.

There's a good made-for-tv movie that goes into the whole thing:
Pirates of Silicon Valley

I personally think ATS should seriously look into the matter of making an iphone app. It's just amazing the number of people posting via their iphone apps on Facebook.

At least a feasibility study is in order.
