Yes, unfortunately pure fiction, besides the link to his play there is also the statement,

Because the guy applied a Creative Commons license to his write-up that makes it fiction? I'm not sure I follow the logic. There are numerous non-fiction papers written using the CC license scheme.

And since my previous comment seems to have gotten lost in the mix, I'll reask...

Well that was a fun read! I usually just lurk, but this story reminded quite a bit of this thread. Anyone else think the two are somehow related?

I wish the guy asked at least one technical question like, "How do we create fusion?" But I guess he was kind of on the spot!
Ah well, even if it is fiction there might be some truth hidden in there.

Thanks for posting the story OP!

I LOVE this story.

Just like God said, either you believe it or youi dont, and he knows you wont. BUt overall this is a very good read. Even if it was fictional, i dont understand why an Atheist would come up with this? How would this benefit him in any way? It not like he is doing it for marketing purposes, because most ppl, like God said, wouldnt believe him. So, if anything it would make him look insane and nobody would buy into any of his work.

Overall, the perception of life in this story is well thought out and not very hard to believe, assuming it were true of course.

He says he was a product of an entire combination of his people from his world. And also says that those who are in Level 2 realize this. SO, i cant help but think, maybe this is the reason why aliesn abduct us and procreate hybrids? So that they can eventually combine all of our genome from the civilaztions of our world? To BECOME God?

Your lying if ANY ONE OF YOU said that yoou would NOT like to be God.

I believe.

I didn't find this article evolutionary at all! Many posts here on ATS (Bloodlines) I found much more thought provoking then this. The only thing that I found interesting in this article was "Adapter vs. Predator" and even that has flaws in it.

Being able to adapt to the world is the only way to "evolve", otherwise you sees to exist.

The author has discussed his story on the web. His site has a forum feature. It was never his intention that people would think it was non-fiction.

In reply to a remark

I guess my inital reaction was a bit of shock. "Is there any chance this is real?"

The author writes

Meanwhile, in response to your post: I'd like to say "That's exactly the effect I was hoping to produce" but it wouldn't be true. It is in fact much better.

It never occurred to me that so many people would ask the question "Did it really happen?" (several dozen have emailed me rather than post it here - I don't think they wanted to be as bold as you and admit it publicly)

www.fullmoon.nu...

Elsewhere, he talks about how he would write it differently, based on the opportunity to think about it with the benefit of feedback.

www.fullmoon.nu...

How dishwater dull if he were just yet another atheist to meet God - and remained an atheist
.

It isn't a retelling of actual events its FAKE.

I will say the author may be headed in the right direction with his thoughts but none of us know the true nature and intent of god's plans and his reasoning for what we call life. Mani feel like ATS is dumbing down.

As a thought experiment... superb

As a read... Excellent

As speculation on God and his relationship with/to the universe... A heck of a lot more compelling and intelligent than your bog-standard religious dogma

Loved it

I don't care if it's God or some dude, its not the point! The content just wasn't anything special nor thought provoking!

Not buying it.

Is there any where mentioning faith in the article?!

Do not ask questions here that you can answer yourself by reading the source material properly. Also, why are you a member here if your mind is so very closed? Be skeptical. Question EVERYTHING you hear, read and see, but dismiss nothing 'out of hand'.

Brilliant post. Thought provoking, intelligent, insightful and very possibly skimming the surface of the truth.

42 anyone?

Hmm, a lot of that stuff are very similar to what I've written. In fact, that page is almost like a summary of all the concepts and theories that I've put forth here.

Anyway, it's said that the development of the brain accelerated once we started to consume meat, and "God" seems to advocate survival of the strongest, so I guess we have our answer as to whether we should eat meat or not.

I thought the thread was awesome.

Of course, I would, because this is basically what I have concluded to be a personal "truth", if you will.

In my estimation, the point of life IS to become godlike. And we can do it.

The only thing I have a problem with in the story is the timelines the guy gives for when we will achieve these things. I think they are just right around the corner.
I mean, technology evolves exponentially. At some point, the leaps are going to become profound and things will progress rather quickly then. I think we are very close to some HUGE breakthroughs that will send us off this planet.
When that happens, we will terraform Mars. We become godlike.

I would love to be around to see if we will ever actually create an intelligent species ourselves. That would be extremely cool.

Hmm... that is why people will fall for the Anti-Christ. Thinking like that. The same lie will be used in the End Times by Maitreya and the aliens.

Genesis 3:5 "For God does know that in the day you eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."

It's not an apple or a literal fruit either. Look past the metaphors and why they were really ashamed of being naked. It's something churches seem to love to not explain.

Those are two distinct and incompatible thoughts.

The story is a fiction. It is not a fake.

Fake would be justified only if the author had intended his story to be mistaken for real events. He says he didn't. Nothing about his story contradicts his statement. He never said differently than he says now. (What any character in a fictional story says is not a fact claim.)

The story is, I think, a psychologically realistic depiction of the waking ego meeting an archetype. Maybe the realism in that sense "bleeds over" into a feeling of realism in the sense of being a literal recitation of actual events. Like when people talk about how real a dream was, when the dream was about... well, about something like being accosted during one's commute by a chatty God wearing jeans and a hobgoblin tee shirt.

Fake or not this is a potentially revolutionary explanation for our universe. I would go as far as saying i feel it has made me smarter.

An awesome read none the less. His thoughts on levels and evolution are inspiring.

Cool read.

This is actually a pretty good article that relates "God" to the "Modern Man".

Reminds me of that song "One of Us" by Joan Osborne.

In honesty, I much prefer reading about the Almighty in this fashion, rather than "Kneel before Z.. God!!" or "Smite thee oh all mighty smiter!" kind of crap.

I can't help but notice the Kardashev scale mentioned in there lol..

Anyway, I'll pass this around to some friends, it's a good brain exercise.
