Wait, maybe it is not on the media because it was just army planes flying in formations, and it was announced to media? Maybe the OP has a friend or something in the army who knows when the planes will fly, or something like that? Close?

Okay, I just learned that it is most likely some kind of event or celebration that tooks place annually. So I guess there's not much prediction in it. I can also predict that sun will rise tomorrow.

It's an annual flight school night time formation for graduation. Happens every December. Good one OP! You saw it coming. Phage already solved this one a long time ago.
