East Germany:
Gabrielle spotted what she thought were two deer in a meadow, and the pair worked their way through the brush to have a look. When they had come within about 80 meters, Herr Linke realised that the 'deer' were two human-like figures dressed in heavy garments made of a "shimmering and metallic substance". The figures that he assumed were Russians, bent over "as if studying something on the ground"...
France:
About a month after the East Berlin sighting, a retired pilot in Guyancourt, France, M Claude Blondeau, had a similar sighting, he stated:
"They were about 170cm (5 ft. 7 in.) tall, and wore dark flying suits"..

November 6, 1957: Early morning in Playa Del Rey, three cars driving along the Pacific Coast Highway suddenly stall when a large “egg-shaped object” surrounded in a “blue haze” lands on the beach only a few yards away.
Witnesses Richard Kehoe, Ronald Burke, and Joe Thomas exit their cars and observe two strange-looking men disembarking from the object. The UFO occupants have “yellowish-green skin” and wear “black leather pants, white belts and light colored jerseys.” They walk up to the witnesses and begin asking questions. Kehoe and the others are unable to understand the occupants, who are apparently speaking a foreign language. After a few moments, the figures return to the object, which takes off and accelerates out of sight.
That same day at 3:50 p.m., an officer and 12 airmen from an Air Force detachment in nearby Long Beach observe six saucer-shaped objects zooming across the sky. Two hours later, officers at Los Alamitos Naval Air Station report seeing “numerous” objects criss-crossing the sky. At the same time, police stations in Long Beach receive more than 100 calls from residents reporting UFOs.
July 28, 1962: The captain of a chartered fishing boat notices lights floating in a stationary position in the water about six miles south of Catalina Island. Upon closer observation, the captain is startled to see what he assumes at first is a Russian sub:
“It appeared to be the stern of a submarine,” he says. “We could see five men, two in white garb, two in dark trousers and white shirts, and one in a sky-blue jump suit. We passed abeam at about a quarter mile and I was certain it was a submarine low in the water, steel gray, no markings, decks almost awash, with only its tail and an odd aft-structure showing.”
Suddenly the submarine heads straight for the fishing boat as if to ram it. The captain makes an emergency turn as the sub moves past them at high speed, emitting no noise and leaving no wake except for a “good-sized swell.” The captain contacts the navy, which is unable to positively identify the sub.
UFO researchers Coral and Jim Lorenzen hear about the case and speculate that it may have been a UFO and not a submarine:
“The high speed, lack of wake and sound, and the huge swell make this object suspect.”
One might also mention the odd shape of the submarine itself, its lack of fear of observation, and its aggressive maneuvering.

Update - Bentwaters 1980, Telepathic Lights?

January 2, 1981, Statement, Airman 1st Class John Burroughs, 81st Security Police Squadron, Bentwaters AFB, U. K.
April 16, 2010 Albuquerque, New Mexico - On April 10, 2010, at the Eureka Springs, Arkansas, UFO conference, I presented a 2-hour update of my continued investigation of the December 1980 to January 1981, unidentified aerial lights and craft phenomena at the then-joint U. S. and U. K. RAF Bentwaters and Woodbridge air base northeast of London in Suffolk County, England.
The colorful red, orange and blue lights seemed closer than before.
Suddenly a large, white light appeared moving along the edge of the forest as if pacing their car and seemed to move closer to them.
[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/771cff58b3c4.jpg[/atsimg]
The lights were red and blue, the red one above the blue one and they were flashing on and off.
Because I never saw anything like that coming from the woods before, we (Burroughs and Steffens) decided to drive down and see what it was.
We went down East Gate road and took a right at the stop sign and drove down about 10 to 20 yards to where there is a (logging) road that goes into the forest.
At the road, I could see a white light shining onto the trees and I could still see the red and blue lights.
Sketch with notes by Airman First Class John Burroughs, 81st Security Police Squadron, Security Police Operations, Charley Flight, Bentwaters AFB, U. K., January 2, 1981.
“This would move back and forth, up and down, but the blue and white and orange would come out when it was sitting in one place.
Blue lights would come out of the beam and the white light below.
A white light would come out below the beam in the trees.”
Signed, Airman 1st Class, John Burroughs, 81st Security Police Squadron, Security Police Operations, Charley Flight.
Computer illustration of sketch by John Burroughs of lights in Rendlesham Forest, 3 AM, December 26, 1980.
John Burroughs told me he was overwhelmed with the feeling “something was not right!” He and Steffens drove back to the East Gate. They phoned a Sgt. McCabe to report what had been happening and McCabe alerted the Central Security Control.
That early morning of December 26, 1980, Staff Sergeant James W. Penniston was duty supervisor at RAF Woodbridge. So, Sgt. Penniston drove to the East Gate in a truck with newly assigned Airman 1st Class Edward Cabansag (pronounced Cuh-VAN-sack) to see for himself what was happening.
Sgt. Penniston asked Airman John Burroughs and Sergeant Bud Steffens if the lights could be from an airplane crash in the forest. Steffens replied: “It did not crash. It landed!”
According to notes in Sgt. Penniston’s notebook shown here and his official written report, he and Airman John Burroughs got to within close distance of a highly strange craft on the ground.
Staff Sgt. Jim Penniston said “black, shiny, triangle-shaped object was 3 meters long by 2 meters high (9.8 feet by 7 feet).”
“Triangular in shape. The top portion is producing mainly white light, which encompasses most of the upper section of the craft.
A small amount of white light is appearing from what appears to be the bottom of the craft.
At the left side is a bluish light.
And on the other side is red light.
The lights seem to be molded as part of the exterior of the structure that seemed to be landed on the forest floor.”

“If you took three handfuls of colored fire and put them together and you saw one color and then saw another color and saw another color, you would get the feeling that it’s not blinking, but that it was turning.”
Former RAF Bentwaters Airman Lori Buoen
Fiery, orange-red sphere that former Airman Lori Buoen, D Flight law enforcement, RAF Bentwaters/Woodbridge, reported after midnight to her Shift Commander, Sgt. Glen Whitehead, on December 27, 1980, after Lori watched the unidentified light move slowly down into Rendlesham Forest. Illustration © 2010 by Lori Buoen.
April 17, 2010 Albuquerque, New Mexico - The computer graphic below was produced by John Burroughs and U. K. researcher, John Rackham, of what John remembers seeing in the forest on December 26, 1980.
- Not a crashing airplane.
- Not the planet Mars.
- And definitely not the Orford Ness lighthouse!
Lori Buoen grew up in Fridley, Minnesota, and immediately after high school enlisted in the U. S. Air Force. Lori went through basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas. Like all new basic airmen, she was assigned to gates.
Christmas night, December 25, 1980, she had been at the Woodbridge Main gate and remembers Base Commander Ted Conrad bringing Christmas dinner to her and others working the holiday night shift.
And sure enough, this is what Lori saw looking north over the Rendlesham Forest. Lori is an artist and drew this illustration of herself in the little, wooden East Gate guard shack watching a large, orange-red ball of fiery light descend slowly into the forest and disappear.
Lori Buoen illustrated her position in the small, 3-foot-by-3-foot wooden East Gate guard shack looking north across the dark flight line that was not lighted and above Rendlesham Forest where she saw a fiery, orange-red sphere moving slowly downward into the trees. Illustration © 2010 by Lori Buoen.
The date of Lori's sighting and report to Central Security Command was the same night she and a security colleague listened to D Flight Shift Commander Lt. Bonnie Tamplin yell for D Flight's Security Flight Chief
Master Sergeant Robert Ball while investigating light reports in Rendlesham Forest. That date appears to have been after midnight on December 27, 1980.
It is now clear that D Flight security and law enforcement knew nothing about what had happened to C Flight's Burroughs, Penniston, Cabansag, Steffens and Lt. Fred Buran around 3 AM on December 26, 1980.
Airman Lori Buoen, D Flight Law Enforcement 11 PM, December 26 until 7 AM, December 27, 1980 D Flight 1st Midnight Shift RAF Woodbridge East Gate March 16, 2010, Duluth, Minnesota: “If you took three handfuls of colored fire and put them together and you saw one color and then saw another color and saw another color, you would get the feeling that it’s not blinking, but that it was turning.
RAF Woodbridge Control Tower on left about a mile from the East Gate guard shack. Straight north across the dark flight line and above Rendleham Forest was the fiery, orange-red sphere Lori watched move slowly down into the forest. At the east end of the runway was a U. K. residence called the Folly House. About 6 miles straight east was the Orford Ness Lighthouse.

”This fiery sphere was in front of me on the north side of the runway above the woods where there is nothing but darkness from the trees.
And the light just slowly disappeared (into the trees.)
Linda asked here IT WENT DOWN FROM HIGH ON AN ANGLE INTO THE TREES?
Right, just straight down into the horizon where the dark trees were. You could tell it was big. It’s like looking at the moon – is the moon big? You knew it was big because you could see it! You know, you knew it was off in the distance and you are thinking it’s just like nothing else you’ve ever seen! You can’t even compare it to something because there is nothing to compare it to!

“We’re observing what appears to be a beam coming down to the ground! This is unreal!” -
Former RAF Bentwaters Deputy Base Commander Lt. Col. Charles I. Halt
Lt. Col. Charles I. Halt described mysterious aerial light that emitted white, narrow, beam down to the ground close in front of him and his investigating team in Rendlesham Forest near RAF Bentwaters, England, in the early morning hours of December 28, 1980.
Illustration by Jan Roth at www.rendlesham-incident.co.uk used with permission.
At 3:05 AM, We see a strange strobe light flashing. Some kind of phenomenon.
At 3:05 AM, 10 degrees horizon drifting north, we’ve got two strange objects turned into full circles … one is moving away from us.
Halt: Here it comes from the south! He’s coming towards us now! We’re observing what appears to be a beam coming down to the ground! This is unreal!
Halt: 03:30 AM, and the objects are still in the sky, although it looks like one is losing a little bit of altitude.
Halt: It’s still beaming down light to the ground.
04:00: One is still hovering over Woodbridge base at about 5 to 10 degrees off the horizon. It’s got erratic and similar lights beaming down.”

“I knew that craft was not from any form of government - I mean, no air force on Earth. It was beyond our (human) capability.”
- Former Staff Sgt. Jim Penniston, RAF Bentwaters
April 27, 2010 Albuquerque, New Mexico - On June 25, 2009, USAF Col. Charles I. Halt (Ret.), former Deputy Base Commander at RAF Bentwaters, England, in December 1980, went on the record to state:
Sgt. James Penniston's Described “Craft of Unknown Origin”
Staff Sergeant James W. Penniston's sketch of triangle-shaped, black, glassy-surfaced craft he photographed and touched in early hours of December 26, 1980. In his notebook, Sgt. Penniston wrote that the craft “was 3 meters long by 2 meters high (9.8 feet by 7 feet).”
Interview:
Former Staff Sgt. James W. Penniston: “It was a triangular craft. The fabric of the craft was black like glass. And then throughout the fabric of the craft, there was some coloring varying from saucer-shaped to pie-shaped circles that moved around the craft. Some were red and blue, some yellow – or orange – I guess more orange.
LINDA; YOU ARE SEEING WHAT LOOKED LIKE CHANGING GEOMETRIC PATTERNS BELOW THE GLASS? OR ABOVE THE GLASS?
Predominantly below the glass on the underside of the craft and then occasionally moving around the upper side. It appeared that the coloring was a part of the actual craft fabric. It made no sense. I’ve never seen anything that had that type of effect before.
LINDA; CAN YOU SEE THROUGH THE BLACK GLASS INTO THE INTERIOR?
No, it was fully opaque. As we approached it thought, that’s when I stepped off measurements of the craft. It measured approximately 9 feet long - that’s three long steps with my stride – and approximately 6.5 feet tall. Occasionally you would get some movement of color throughout the fabric of the craft – sometimes a small glob that was probably 6 inches across and sometimes 12 inches across. But they were very sporadic color.
LINDA; CIRCLES THAT WOULD CHANGE THEIR SIZE FROM SOMETHING LIKE 6 INCHES TO MAYBE 12 INCHES WHEN THEY MOVED OVER THE SURFACE OF THE DARK, BLACK GLASS?
That is correct. It’s hard to describe! But I think what stands out in my memory is the blackness of the craft. If you took an onyx stone and you had an onyx stone that measured 9 feet long and 6 feet high – that’s what you would see.
LINDA; WERE YOU THINKING AT THAT MOMENT THIS IS NOT FROM EARTH?
I knew that craft was not from any form of government - I mean no air force on Earth. It was beyond our (human) capability.
Staff Sergeant James W. Penniston's sketch of 3-inch high symbols etched into the dark, glassy craft's surface that he touched in early hours of December 26, 1980.
Former Staff Sgt. James W. Penniston: “They measured probably 2.5 to 3 feet wide. I was looking for a crew compartment or a window or something. I touched it and the air temperature out there at the time was probably 34 degrees Fahrenheit, something like that. The symbols were very warm to touch. The temperature I would say was like 60 degrees F.
LINDA; YOU WERE FEELING HEAT AND WHAT ELSE?
The smoothness of the craft – I was trying to figure it out. It feels like glass, but it can’t be glass. It’s got to be metal, but it felt like glass. I was confused at that point because nothing in my training prepared me for what was going on.
As I felt my way around the craft, I came upon the symbols that were on the craft and gave them a lot more attention, feeling each one and then recording it in my notebook.
If you had a sheet of smooth glass and you took a piece of sandpaper and you laid it on that glass, running from the glass to the sandpaper – that’s how it felt.

“Right after the chartreuse beam came down and engulfed me, it might have been a second or two later, these four alien beings showed up in the beam circling around me.”
- Steve Askew, Leggett, California
May 26, 2010
Back in 1988, Steve Askew and his girlfriend then and now wife, Jill, decided to take up his Leggett, California, uncle's invitation to use a cabin near the Eel River.
The spot was so remote and rugged, there were no other structures eastward for probably 50 miles. The afternoon the couple arrived, the temperature was near 90 degrees F. without a breeze. So Steve and Jill decided to pitch a tent in a clear spot not far from the cabin that overlooked a meadow in a narrow valley that Steve estimates was a half-mile wide from ridge to ridge.
Their tent was about 900 feet above the valley floor.
Dark came along about 9:30 PM and they decided to go in their tent and do some reading by flashlights. A couple of hours later between 11 to 11:30 PM, the first strangeness in a highly strange night began.
Interview:
Steve Askew, Water Quality Technician, Spokane, Washington: “We heard this SWISSSSHH! sound over the trees. It was like a strong wind came through, but there was no wind. That noise happened for probably about a second.
Jill and I looked at each other and I said I was going outside to see what it was. I walked about 50 feet up into the meadow for a clearer look at the sky and I could not see anything at first. Then all of a sudden, to my left up on top of the ridge, I noticed this light. It was kind of like a red color. I’ve never seen that red before. All of a sudden it went down and then about a minute later, it came back up and I realized this light thing was huge! It covered almost the whole valley!
1988 remote camp site near Eel River outside Leggett in Northern California.
Steve Askew drew himself in a meadow about 50 feet from the tent between 11 and 11:30 PM as he saw a huge, triangle-shaped aerial craft Steve estimated to be one-half mile wide that “covered almost the whole valley!”
Illustration © 2010 by Steve Askew.
When that craft came over the top of me in the meadow, that happened within a half second from the time it was at the top of the ridge and then down to where I was – really fast!
When it stopped, it was probably within another second to when I couldn’t move. I was paralyzed.
My girlfriend was paralyzed – she could not move. But we could yell at each other.
Chartreuse Green-White Beam Surrounds Steve
Gigantic triangle-shaped craft blocks out the stars above him as a chartreuse green-white beam about 30 feet in diameter suddenly drops down from the center of the craft around Steve as he stood in a meadow near the Eel River outside Leggett, California, in 1988 a little before midnight. Illustration © 2010 by Steve Askew.
Four Alien Beings Circle Steve in Beam And then right after the chartreuse beam came down and engulfed me, it might have been a second or two later, these four alien beings showed up in the beam circling around me. They were on the inside of the beam, but near the outside edge of the beam. They were looking at me and I was looking at them. I’m like, ‘Oh, my! They are going to take me.’ Something is going to happen and I could not move. I was scared to death.
LINDA; HOW TALL WERE THEY?
STEVE; I figure they were about 5 feet tall because I'm 5-feet-eleven-inches and those aliens seemed to be about a foot off the ground floating around in a circle.
LINDA;WHAT DID THEY LOOK LIKE?
STEVE; They looked almost identical. They had long, white hair probably down to their backside. Their face looks like it was from a horror picture. It was kind of like when you look at an x-ray and you see the skeleton all dark and white shades? That’s what it looked like, but still had the long white hair. And they were wearing what looked like black jumpsuits, but the collar was up almost 4 inches and their sleeves were kind of open down to their elbow. I could not tell what they were wearing on their feet because I could not see down. And they were just staring at me.
Steve has struggled to illustrate what the four non-human beings with long, white hair and “Angelina Jolie eyes” dressed in black jumpsuits looked like circling around him in the chartreuse green-white beam. This current sketch has two Xs marking the places where he hopes he can refine his drawing to show at least three of the four beings circling around him. Illustration © 2010 by Steve Askew.
LINDA; DID YOU SEE ANY EMBLEM OR SYMBOL ON WHAT THEY WERE WEARING?
STEVE; No, I did not.
LINDA; DESCRIBE THE EYES?
STEVE; The eyes were not as big as the ones drawn for what is called the Greys. Their eyes were more normal human size, but a little bit bigger. They were kind of like Angelina Jolie eyes.
LINDA; A LITTLE BIGGER THAN THE AVERAGE HUMAN EYES.
STEVE; Yes. And the nose was sort of flat. The mouth – the lips were narrow. The teeth, I don’t know if they had any. Their necks were normal length of a human. Their arms were average length. The color of their skin was like a creamish-white color.
LINDA; LIGHTER IN THE GREENISH-WHITE BEAM THAN YOUR OWN SKIN LOOKED TO YOU?
LINDA; Yes, very white.

Hi karl 12, I didn't read that book called 'You can't tell the people' by British researcher Georgina Bruni, and I also was not aware of the fact that she was dead.
I looked it up and found that she died from cancer on 19 January 2008, much too young.
There are so many books I want to read, but it is impossible to come to that, I assume you experience the same.

Yeah, that's my painting, alright. Was that a commercial video, by any chance? I never received a copyright permission request on it. Not that I'm a hardass or a litigious person, but a notice of usage would've been nice.

Hi Doc Velocity, did you ever made a request to Robert O Dean for a copyright permission for the picture you used as an example for yours?
The difference being, of course, that I didn't post an exact photo of Dean's photo and claim that I painted it. Copyright protection of images does not extend to the idea of the image, only to the exact image itself. So, we could sit around doodling sketches and paintings of Robert O Dean's photo all day long without violating any copyright.
However, taking an exact photo of my painting and featuring it in another body of work without attribution can constitute copyright infringement. Not that I would ever sue anybody — I sold that painting a while back, anyway. Just sayin...
