H1N1 Tamiflu vaccine have almost no effect

news.yahoo.com

An investigation by the British Medical Journal and Channel 4 News acknowledges that the drug oseltamivir, which trades as Tamiflu, has "a modest effect in reducing flu symptoms and infectivity in otherwise healthy adults."

But "researchers say there is insufficient published data to know if oseltamivir reduces complications in otherwise healthy adults," the media groups said in a joint statement.

Well, anyone who didnt expect this ?
I guess there is a medical company who have profitted on this vaccine - they should pay all the money back

In Denmark we hear that if 1000 people takes Tamiflu it will have effect on only 1 person ! ! !

You know that 1 in 1000 effect is actually less than a placebo.

As far as i am aware Tamiflu is not a vaccine... its an Anti Viral.

The claim is that Tamiflu can help reduce the severity of viral symptons and reduce the virus's effect by a couple of days.

I do not believe anyone has every claimed that Tamiflu can prevent swine flu, or any other flu for that matter.

I have also heard reports that there is a more virilent strain of swine flu now which is resistant to Tamiflu.

However, Tamiflu can still be prescribed to vulnerable groups when suffering from normal seasonal flu.

Hope this helps...

Yep, that's right, this whole thread is complete rubbish, as Tamiflu isn't available in vaccine form. It comes in capsule form.

I have heard reports from friends that it actually makes you feel worse, as it causes serious upset stomachs. It was enough for me not to take it when I had swine flu!

OP, I would suggest changing the thread header to avoid ridicule.

Because they're more trustworthy than big pharma and Fox News?

Tamiflu in Japan is known to make children commit suicide. So to say it has no effect is misleading at best.
