Oh yes I did read the entire article. I'm saying that if todays doplar radar can't accurately predict the weather then why should we believe ANY ancient prophecy? As far as quessing goes..........My vote goes to the farmers almanac.

As far as i can tell this story looks like a complete fabrication.

Weekly world news is garbage and shouldn’t even be used as a reference for material.

It provides no quotes from scripture and no links!!

Also, does this really belong in Fragile Earth?? This might be more suited to Conspiracies in Religion section. Although I get the feeling it’s just a complete waste of space that should just be deleted... sorry!

Happens here in Pgh also..

When you see a flake, you hit the brakes...

Sucks really I would rather be doing 90 in a 15 mile an hr school zone one a sheet of ice and still have better control of my car than most doing 2 mph on the highway.

I want to make a prediction, if this does happen in the United States, with the bad Winter thing, but my prediction is that if you go South of the Equator not to far, but you will find nice sunny days while this is going on, that is my prediction.
Make note of this, it will be warm in parts of the Sothern Hemisphere.

Possibly the best known of all the stories to come out of WWN, Bat Boy was first featured in a 1992 issue after being found in a cave in West Virginia (Lost World Caverns). He has since led police on a high speed chase, fought in the war on terror, led the troops to capture Saddam Hussein, bitten Santa Claus, and traveled into Outer Space. In 2000, he gave his endorsement to Al Gore. It was foretold that Bat Boy would become president in 2028. The story of Bat Boy was the basis for an acclaimed off-Broadway musical, Bat Boy: The Musical, though the play ended tragically and ignores the continuity of the original stories. In addition to articles, Bat Boy has been featured in a comic strip since 2004, though it's said that only the articles are the "true" story of Bat Boy. The strip was originally written and drawn by Peter Bagge, and then by Danielle Corsetto.

Long live Bat Boy!

You know a lot of those stories in those tabloids are bull, but every once in awhile one will be true I remember one about a guy killed a Bear and saved this girl and after that he married her. I don't know why the guy married a dead Bear, no really later weeks later the story came out in the regular Newspaper.
So their you go, but I don't believe this one, I don't know how this guy will get out of looking the fool, that's why his buddies told him to keep his mouth shut.
What difference does it make, people die either way, who's going to go crawl in a hole, and who's not worried already that the whole shabang might go kapluie.
I know I'm not worried because I don't give a Rats arse, I will not say anything sacralegious, what ever that means.

Do you guys think that's the reason for that "food shortage that's supposed to come?" By the crops that are failing from the cold weather, I could imagine so.

There is an oblique reference to some Quran text.

Do you have access to the documents that this man relies on for this prediction?

No.

Because the "source" is unsourced.

Like a few have stated above, WWN is pretty much bullsxxt. Yeah sure they could have 1 article in a thousand that is a true story, but usually its crap, and the sad thing is that mindless meatsacks actually believe it.

In fact I cant believe i read any of this shix and actually commented.

Dont worry about this winter.

You crack me up ThichHeaded. You are too funny but its so true. Besides the fact that curb jumping pedestrians have the right of way and orange barrels will bite your tires out, there is the dreaded potholes of the squirrel hill tunnel. No one in Pgh uses signals when changeing lanes because sometimes you need to change 4 lanes in 4 seconds to get to where you want to go. Sometimes the hillside will just fall down on your car. If you can drive thru pgh then you can drive anywhere in america. I think all drivers should have to take their driving test in pgh.

I live in Oxford but drive for UTS. I am sure you have seen the vans. So you know why I was so tongue in cheek about Monday's fun-fest.

Not sure what today and tomorrow will hold, but it is 51 degrees at 3:50 am.

But yeah, we are long overdue for another Blizzard of 78 style winter. Unfortunately, I don't think the majority of people are prepared for sitting at home (or wherever) for a few days to a week. The best part of when Ike blew through last year, was that it was not cold yet.

You've spotted the same clue that i did... & i concluded the 66 year old is slipping into the dottering old man phase.

and he is fitting scriptures into his personal agenda...

...“The Dead Sea Scrolls, particularly, the geographic area which is now the United States,” said. Dr. Hameil. “The texts tell of a ‘violent freezing wind’ blowing up from the tropics and ’striking with the force of seven hurricanes.’

a freezing wind from the 'tropics' ? Strong as 7 Hurricanes?...
the USA specifically noted in Dead-Sea-Scrolls?

"There is a nightmare winter ahead of us in 2010,” says Dr. Hameil. “The impending death and property destruction are indescribable.

“I wish the news was better. But more than 50 key passages in books as diverse as Revelation, Ezekiel and Jeremiah – not to mention the Dead Sea Scrolls – point to 1996 as the year God releases His fury on Earth – specifically America.

here's where the 1996 & 2010 years are jumbled together,
as if there's a promised, pre-ordained 14 year period of gods fury unleased on the N.American continent...
forecast before 200 BCE
if the Ezekiel or older Dead-Sea-Scrolls are interpeted correctly.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FOLLOW UP:
neither Google nor Bing Search engines know anything of a Dr. Jason Hameil, a Christian scholar.
He seems to arose from the article itself,
and is ridiculed on 2 other Forums in response to the news article.
i submit the story, the character, all all fabrications cobbled together from other snippets of past 'round file' stories...
hint: note the Authors last name
