Mark Carlston, president and CEO of Forest Wood Fiber Products of Lake Elsinore, Calif., said that such combustion is possible only if poor quality material is used. He said there could be a problem if the wood fiber contained lumber such as plywood with flammable resins or glues or if it contained "green waste," which is ground up tree trimmings or similar vegetation.
"If the material is made correctly, I would say that would be almost impossible," he said about the spontaneous combustion.

The playground
at Anderson Elementary caught fire last week, apparently as a result of spontaneous combustion

Do you think wood chips ever caught fire previously? Is this a new type of wood? Come on regardless of the material....you are going to say they made these playgrounds out of flammable substances?
The extreme heat cause these wood chips to become tinder just like the forest and brush fires that have broken out all over the country claiming huge tracts of land, impossible to control. How many people have lost their homes? Are you going to blame those fires on this material?
The very foundation of fire ecology is the premise that wildland fire is neither innately destructive nor in the best interest of every forest. Fire causes change and change has its own value. Certain forest biomes benefit more than others.
Change by fire is biologically necessary to maintain many healthy ecosystems in fire-loving plant communities and resource managers have learned to use fire to cause changes in plant and animal communities to meet their objectives. Varying fire timing, frequency, and intensity produces differing resource responses that create the correct changes for habitat manipulation.

First of all I guess as usual the language "issue" comes to fall right into the argument, My first language is not English, you know it happens, what you have to say about that one now.
Lucky me that have been able to see the world.

Yea, there is no media bias, no, not at all.
I think this media blitz is going to backfire on them. People are already PO'd at what the governments of the world are doing and now this is going to send alarm bells ringing off in peoples heads. I mean seriously 56 papers? Talk about pulling out all the stops to push an agenda. This is ridiculous.
