The leader of the town told him flatly they "would rather see their children dead than their children grow up in America".

Not to be taken literally, I am sure, but obviously you have trouble comprehending what an affront the American offer was to their sense of honour.

The implication is that your country (Afghanistan) is such a useless pile of crap that you do not deserve to keep your children and give us your children because we, in America are so much better than you.

Well, not everyone would agree that America is so much better; even if they are playing in the mud in the streets. You have no idea of the sense of camaraderie and love that might exist between the poorest of people that would put to shame the shallow relations between people who are rich.

Talk about your arrogant, ignorant American!

I am surprised Obama does not understand that there is no way to root out terrorism.

Suppose the US army succeeds in hunting down all terrorists in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Then what? a new generation of people will be raised hating Americans and the American way of life.

The only way out is to persuade them that America is not the enemy.

Actions speak louder than words. The best way to persuade them would be to stop being the enemy.

Up to now your (US) actions speak volumes that you need to be feared and your motives questioned.

Those actions do kinda put you in the enemy category. Change your behaviour over there and in the rest of the world and you will sway opinion.
