Dr. Michio Kaku talks about free energy

Did anyone catch the new series on the Science channel called Sci Fi Science ?

Dr. Kaku was designing a starship. And when he got to the part about needing a ton of power he mentioned a study done by Harvard where essentially they detected power from a vacuum. In their words, "power from nothing"

They also referred to it as negative energy.

Im no physicist but that sounds pretty similiar to the descriptions Ive read of the mythical zero point energy system.

I saw this as well and it definitely made me wonder "Free-energy"?

another thing Ive always wondered is. Did the big bang take place in a vacuum? and wouldn't that be something from nothing?
