BERLIN (Reuters) – Germany's most wanted fugitive was captured Tuesday after a five-day manhunt, when police knocked the escaped murderer off the woman's bicycle he was riding along a rural road near the Dutch border.

Peter Paul Michalski surrendered without a fight after an unmarked police car deliberately crashed into him, knocking him off the bicycle onto the grassy shoulder of the road.

The 46-year-old, who was serving a life sentence when he escaped from prison last week, was carrying a pistol.

Are you criticizing the police for bumping the guy off his bicycle? Oh, the poor fellow did he scrape his knee.

You should be applauding them for capturing this escaped convict that was a danger to society.

Yea, make the freaking killer into a victim why don't you. The guy escaped from prison what did you expect the cops to do walk up to him and say, "Hey it's time for you to go back to prison, come with us" meanwhile he reaches in his waistband or where ever the pistol was and kills the cops.

Please whatever so what they hit the guy with a car, all he had to do was stay in prison and none of it would have happened.

I fail to see what the problem is.

The guy dowsed three (?) people with gasoline and set them on fire. Killing one, disfiguring the others for life and they were in a lot of pain to endure their treatments. Not to mention carjackings and holding innocent people hostage while making death threats.

He got knocked off a bike.

I fail to see what the problem is.

Your first idea when escaping from prison isn't getting hit by a car and getting flung off the side of a road. Criminals or not, someone should still be respected.

No ones life was in danger at the time, he was on a women's bike next to a car, I don't see the need to have ran into him.

I didn't read that in the article. Sorry for the little rant, now that I realize that, I agree, he deserved it.

So a violent criminal escapes from prison and is out and about with a deadly weapon, and the police err on the side of caution by hitting him with a car. And that was too harsh? The police are idiots for doing that? You're aware that if a prison guard caught him in the act of escaping, he probably would have been shot in the back, yeah?

If an escaped murderer was running around your town with a gun, would you want one of your local officers to risk getting killed and having the convict go on his merry way, or would you want to be sure that they got him off the streets and back where he belongs?

If someone escapes from prison, guess what? They probably don't have good deeds on their agenda. They are not worthy of anyone's respect.

The most wanted criminal in the country? I would have knocked him off the bike too! I'm not a violent person at all, but if I knew it was the right guy, I would have knocked him off the bike without even giving it a second thought.

Wow too bad he wasn't hit and ran over by an 18 wheeler,no treatment of him could be thought of as excessive,he's a murder no reason for him to live,problem with society look at guy that killed 4 cops after his 95 yr conviction was overturned,waste your time on something that really matters
