Silver is used in main stream medicine too. The British NHS has started using it for infected wounds and ulcers.

I knew this already, because my father has them for his leg ulcers, but here is evidence to back up.

Silver use in NHS

I submit the following information provided by ATS' most favoured health care specialist...Some guy on the Net...

The ONLY type of water you should use is distilled water, which has been distilled by water distillation (not reverse osmosis). There are NO exceptions. All other types of water have too many impurities. While water impurities help speed up the cooking of the colloidal silver, the minerals in the water can bind to the silver particles and may eventually create a health condition known as argyria. Argyria is a condition where the skin turns grey or blue-grey because of taking high doses of impure colloidal silver over time. It is very difficult to reverse the condition, so it should be avoided. www.cancertutor.com...

Sounds reasonable to me...and an interesting article to boot. 'Papa Smurf'..I love that!

Well, just look at the poor guys in the Intel ads for further evidence of this problem.

But seriously, I know a guy who uses this stuff pretty sensibly, and he's fine.
He tells me he never gets colds, and generally feels pretty good.
I've thought of trying it myself, but I'm too untogether to make it, and it's too expensive to buy at the moment.
I heard, or read somewhere that silver is used on laptops because of it's antibacterial properties, so people's grubby mits don't end up infecting other users.

Just my two pen'rth.

Colloidal silver is absolutely safe if you get the correct brands and do not go to these folksy places on the net and get their snake oil.

Um, this is a product directly marketed to folksy newage people and their websites seem to be the only place that you can even find it. Where do you suggest people go if they want to get reputable colloidal silver?

I've never been in a health food store that didn't carry at least a few brands. Did your research extend any further than Wal-Mart?

My sister used it before taking interferon treatments, but it had no benefit for her whatsoever. She was getting much worse while using it.

I had hoped someone was going to say it!

Say what you will. I am not a big alternative medicine kinda guy, but I have used silver for ear infections and sore throats that were getting bad. Each time I used the silver... my earache or sore throat went away. In my experiences with it, it has worked.

Tastes kinda metallic, what a surprise there. And I didn't turn blue.

Now, that. Was funny!

Colloidal silver and Marijuana. The 2 miracle cure-alls no one wants you to know about. Keep grasping, big pharma.

If colloidal silver does this to your skin, what about gold, copper, or platinum?

Xammu, colloidal Copper and Zinc also have antimicrobial properties.

Zinc acts in a slightly different way as silver does.

Copper I didn't check yet the mode of action.

As to Gold and Platinum, it is more complicated.

Gold is harder to transform to a colloidal solution than silver. To make it worse there is the new age version called Monoatomic Gold.

I can't comment on Platinum for now, I haven't even started researching this element.

The only thing I know about Platinum is that it is used as an electrode to measure the parts per million content of solutions.

Some colloidal silver sellers actually sell Platinum-based readers for checking the PPM.

Homeopaths are jokes.

You only need to look at their cure to know there is no active ingredient in any of their medications.
Until they can prove how there is a cure without an active ingredient, I don't think they should get respect..

And it's on them to prove it.

First off, I use it every day, a 20% solution and have for almost a full year, no ill effects, and had some remarkable healing. Noteworthy; smashed finger that healed very fast with minimal scarring, quick enough to cause co-workers to come just to "look at the finger". Making it is NOT that expensive but does take some practice. IT has been used for hundreds of years, In the 1700's people would drop a silver coin in the gathered milk to help it "keep" longer and kept food on silver pewter platters for the same reason. If you do attempt to make Silver Colloidal, here's a couple tips; always use distilled water, warm the water and keep it above room temp. while making to speed-up the process. The end product should be clear (never, EVER, cloudy ) and slightly yellow or amber. Lastly, some sites suggest adding salt to help with conductivity thus quicker end product, never add salt, it will change the chemical composition of Silver Colloidal.
Peace.

Nothing to do with rubbing silver.

Actually this guy is a peace loving refugee from Pandorica after the American army burnt his house down
to get the Unobtainium for their weapons.

I hope we can get him a mate so that a peaceful race can breed and populate Washington.

I told my siter in law whose daughter is sick with infections. She says she's on penecillan just now. I suggested to her to use Colloidal Silver as I have done in the past. She called up the NHS in the UK who told her not to touch it because it was toxic. After that she went bananas at me saying her daughter had enough problems without me suggesting I poison her.

Yikes!! Guess the NHS have been told by Big Pharma to not touch it even with a barge pole. I use it here and there and there's nothing wrong with me. I even put silver discs in the horses trough's to take the bacteria out of their water.

But she gave me a heap of abuse after that and has ignored me. I guess the mind control works very well for her!!

This is literally right on time! I had just heard about collidial silver almost 5 days ago. I've gone twenty some odd years with out hearing about this and I said well I might try that. I'm so glad that I saw this video. I don't think I'll be trying that anytime soon.

Silver is anti biotic - thats why you might use it on skin - maybe acne, or other infection was the reason he used it.

I have used in the past. Had an bad ear ache, poured some in my ear and let it sit there awhile. Ear ache went away overnight. Also used it with a really bad sore throat, gargled with it 3 times a day, took two days for me to feel 100%. I tend to think the stuff works.
