If fraud were a crime, every politician would be in prison.
Al Gore probably believes what he says. While it appears that at least some global warming proponents were playing with the data, Gore most likely
wasn't a part of that. He's a politician, not a scientist.
More to the point, what crime would he be arrested for? Being wrong? So far, being wrong, or even knowingly making false statements (while not under
oath) is not a crime. Gore wasn't hustling money for himself by defrauding other people. He was, at worst, doing what every televangelist does -
talk a lot of bollocks and get people to send money for "the cause".
No crime, no time (to paraphrase Baretta).
