The Dangers of Investigating Conspiracies and Cover-ups

The James McDonald story frustrates the hell out of me.

There are several issues with investigating conspiracy:

1. There is the interpersonal friction with spouse and peers. Many like to believe the world is a perfectly safe place and that everyone is telling the truth and has our best interests at heart. Most of us assume our perception is reality. So, any notion that people in positions of authority are corrupt, or that established norms are wrong and or harmful will always be met with resistance.

2. It takes courage to challenge the status quo. In medicine they teach "50 percent of medicine is wrong, the problem is knowing what 50 percent." Well it take people willing to ask why, challenge the system to progress.

3. If a conspiracy does exist, then the conspirators target conspiracy theorists. Operation Trojan Horse suggests that the conspiracy is leaking information about itself to see who is awake and not under mind control. They are making a list, and those on the list will be targeted at some point.

If you get kids not doing invesitgating and just giving their general opinions on information they don't know much about, there really is no harm.
People like me are just here for the talk. I am not the kind of person to go hacking into anywhere or thoroughly invesigating anything. Firstly, I woudln't know how to, secondly I know what kind of trouble that causes.
If you decide to go further than what's already on google, then it's your responsiblity.
I know my posts 'talk' a lot, but talking about dissolving ego, or NWO # without anything to back it up isn't going to do much. Frankly I just get easily drawn into stuff.
I just have a feeling that most of it's conspiracy. I have changed my mind very rapidly in a few hours/days being on here. Just today i have reevaluated what I've said. Some of it's true, but I don't do my homework, really, I do not.
I don't know where you guys get half of your information. So I feel this site does nothing for me.... It has been interesting because I've seen things I would have never before but I don't know how long I could stay on here just for the sake of sanity.
I kind of want to go back lol sorry guys. its getting silly now you think ATS members are gonna get in trouble??

I am not being like this out of a turn. but because some of you think you are important enough to be stalked by the government. Some of you are genuinely suffering psychosis (not trying to be derogitary), and I had posted the thread about truth for these similar reasons.
I just wonder what anyone is hoping to gain by being on here. This is a place of the imaginary. I can't see anyones face can you?

Now I have read this post and been gullible to the influence of ATS I am sure now that its gone too far. Now its gone to people being hunted down - inverted commas.
This is all a bit much for me.
You have fun in your truth paradise because I think youve all lost your mind. This isn't a quick reevaluation out of fear, oh god, Im gonna get caught. Doh, Im on here writing this. God damn it.
Im just a kid playing with matches.
I get drawn to it because I find it hard to find truth anywhere. But being on here is not finding truth but further concealing it.
Now its got to the point where you are all considering finding information that only the goverment have. OK having books or leaks of some sort is fine, because even on Youtube you had the NWO stuff.
but I can't do this anymore. How have you all kept your sanity? Seriously? Coutning toothpicks all day?
Its as if you are making it sound like we should all be afraid. The thing is, we could all be nuts. I am kind of tired of living in non-reality right now. Anyway you go on.

I'm new to ATS so I couldn't post this as a new thread but I wanted to get my message out.

I know exactly how dangerous investigating conspiracies can be on a personal level. I have always been into the paranormal (ghosts, UFOs, cryptozoology, etc..) which already set me apart from most kids my age. I remember career day in the 1st grade every kid wanted to be a doctor or lawyer, fireman, they wanted to help people and make money. I wanted to be a parapsychologist because I wanted answers. I guess this curiosity stuck with me into my adult years. Also as a side note I loved to build puzzles and figure things out...Fast forward to about 2007. Im surfin around craigslist when I see a post for FREE 9/11 DVDs. I was like "free" and "dvd" my two favorite words. about a week later a small box arrives at my door. I opened it and there were about 40 or so documentary style dvds about 9/11 conspiracies, the NWO, the whole shabazz. That was Pandora's box and it opened up a whole new world for me. I of course was a skeptic which led me to investigate some of these claims. It was a downward spiral down the rabbit hole that pales in comparison to that of Alice's adventures in wonderland. What i found was not wonderful at all nor an adventure. It shocked me, scarred me, made me doubt my faith. And it only got worse. Recently it has been brought to my attention that i am very dis-associative to other people and I sometimes daze off like I have ADD. I quit caring about what people had to say unless I could spin my conspiracies into the conversation. My wife told me I was obsessed to which I responded. "NO I am AWAKE and im trying to help the people I love WAKE UP before it's too late...." That last part hit me like a ton of bricks and inspired me to write this. "TOO LATE" instead of spending time trying to convince the people I Love that the hidden secret world is out to get us all. I should just spend time with the people I love. So I encourage all of you reading this to please take a break from ATS and the whole conspiracy realm. Enjoy a movie with your families instead of trying to find the hidden Illuminati symbols. Go for a walk outside and enjoy Gods beautiful creation without the fear of airborne pathogens and chemtrails above you. This group that we are in this conspiracy world is not for everybody. It's mentally and physically draining and if you can't step away from it once in awhile it WILL consume you.

I PROMISE that if I ever find the "Truth" I will tell the world. No matter how dangerous it is.

I've been investigating conspiracys for about a year now on and off taking in the little bits of truth littered here and there and im really starting to pickup the researching. (15+ hours today... I'm gonna start seeing things if I don't take a break)

Part of me is too lazy to dig further into some of the things and part of me is too scared but I want the truth.

The way all this shiz interlinks is crazy.

The Big issue concerning investigation is that you cannot afford to let your imagination run away with you. Theres far to much fantasy in conspiracy research and investigation. Take a look at what happens when imagination and arrogance take over from common sense.

This link discusses an authors research into JFK that has resulted in a rather public shaming. The problem with this is there will be people defending the person examined. Bad investigations like bad research bring out a host of bad people who support some pretty silly darn stuff.

I ain't scared of nothing when I do my investigations. So they waste thousands of dollars of taxpayer money to come after little ol' me? I always say karma is real and it is always a bitch in the end. They get rid of me well I will just haunt their asses.

He he he, agreed! It had become quite tiresome hadn't it?!

And why hasn't anyone commented on WadeFrazier3 suddenly getting banned from ATS all his threads have been banned - I wonder if the people he was talking about put pressure on certain people to ban him because he was getting too many people interested in his Ideas or getting too close to a touchy subject.

Let's get real: NOBODY, nobody gets out of here "alive" in any case, ever. Doesn't happen.

If you're Jesus Christ, you had to experience death even before you could be resurrected to a new life.

So, catastrophizing about being mortal is kinda silly. You get me?

Now, telling the Truth is a serious matter. Why?

Because no problem can be solved or resolved UNLESS what is known about it is true and real.

So, whistleblowers may leave here precipitously, but they do a bang-up job at enabling and facilitating problem-solving in the public domain.

I am honored to be among their number; and I'm too dam old to worry about getting knocked off.

So, tell the truth about the problems you see; or if you're still young with your whole life in front of you, tell your parents or grandparents, who can MAYBE run with it.

I'm not too surprised that this happens. I mean this could be the one part that Hollywood gets right - federal agencies do take out liabilities.

After all of that praise for the site, I am so curious to see what it holds... it's locking up for me too...
