Orb, skull?, and EVP software editing question

These are a few pics taken by my brother at a mausoleum in IL. I think these were taken via cellphone cam, but not sure. Same with the audio.

And I have a question. What free editing software do you use to make EVPs more clear? I have an audio file to check and any help is appreciated. If I can clean it up, I'll post it. I haven't checked it out yet but he said there are things on there.

This shows a fog. I lost track of the pic that showed it w/o the fog.

There is Audacity but it's rather limited.

Curious, could your brother see the Orbs with his eyes or did these only show up after he took the picks?

Your Orb pics look good - but orbs are usually discounted as dust particles reflecting off the flash. I do see the skull in that one though. Good pics! I hope you can clean up the evp audio.

No. They only showed up after the pic was taken. Same deal with the "skull".

He did see the "fog" though.

If you could upload the raw audio file I should be able to clean it up quite nicely, I've done it quite a few times before including unintentionally finding a couple of EVPs in a video recording on here. Also, there is no one specific way to clean up a recording as there are too many variables.

If you're wondering my background is professional audio (specifically studio/production based) so if you put it up I can take a listen.

The only St Charles I know of is in MO.

Oh well,That's pretty far from me.There is one in St Charles Il. 30 miles west of Chicago,I wanted to check out.I thought that might be it,but cool pics though. I'll be keeping up with this thread to see what they look like when enhanced.

WEll, there are 2 orbs on the "non skull" pic I posted. I didn't notice them before. You can see them in the before-after the pics that were taken.

And it was a regular digital camera w/audio and video, not a cellphone camera.

Its a Samsung digimax A503, if that matters any.

I've just listened to it quickly and it's hard to make anything out due to there being a lot of ambient noise. One question I immediately have, is that "whoosing" sound traffic or the very thing that can't be explained as of yet? Nothing has really stood out from my initial listening bar a brief low frequency noise and some other sound at one point which is masked by what I'm presuming is traffic. None of this really implies paranormal as of yet, I'll try to clean up the couple of things I mentioned later but I'm not expecting much from it.

What was the audio recorded with and after setting it to record did they actually leave the room or remain in there or the surrounding area? Any supporting photographs from the exact spot either? As you said, speak to him because if he has a specific thing he wants looked at in depth or anything else to add it might help.

Not to say that some photos are not indicative of something extraordinary, but as far as orbs go these effects are quite inherent especially to digital cameras and are quire easy to create and replicate. Just take a flash photo with a lot of dust particles or when its raining in low light and you'll get all sort of orbs. I find them a bit of a nuisance though as they mar an otherwise nice picture from time to time. They do make great converstion pieces if you want to spook someone out though, that is if you can get an orb effect that looks like something really strange. Basically the orbs are caused by bright out of focus particles near the camera lens.

I tend to agree with your skepticism regarding orbs, newbie that I am when it comes to this and admittedly knowing very little about it.

EVPs might have something to it though. There is no good reason to record actual voices

No flash was used as they were taken in daylight. There is a curfew there at night, due to all the vandalism that went on there for years.

There is no traffic there. The nearest road is some good distance away, and a parking lot about 100-150 yards away.

He left the camera recording by itself inside. HE left it to record until he saw some people heading towards him.

There is video that has the sounds on it. I'm sorry, but the things he heard were not on the audio I posted. So thanks to me, you wasted some time. I am sorry.

I'll go through it and see what I can find and post it, along with the entire file.

No worries at all, it happens (I haven't spent much time on it anyway). I'm still happy to examine the audio from the video as well when you get a chance to upload it. As for the so called orbs, I have to agree with Alfer. These are nothing more than artefacts caused by dust, bugs and other small objects.

I caught something at 4:50, just messing around with it on the editor. I wont say what I heard, just to keep any undue influence out of it. I'll just say it goes with the previous history of the place (satanism). I"ll post some info on this that my brother has.

There's probably more. Its like I hear things but just can't quite make it out, yet.

There does seem to be more audio picked up on this file as opposed to the other one I posted.

Downloading now, and .wav files are great - much better than the mp3s that are usually uploaded so thanks for that. I'll give it a blast and let you know what I think.

Well, there's that 'traffic' noise in there again. Is this the sound at 4:50 you've been listening to?

Personally I think it's either a case of auditory pareidolia due to the large amount of noise or a whisper between two people which has been picked up by an insensitive mic at low-volume making it hard to be understood. Assuming it's the latter and I had to choose words I'm leaning towards someone saying, "turn the lights off" followed by a brief pause and a reply (in a deeper voice/whisper) of, "OK". That's probably the pareidolia though.

One thing I will say with certainty is that there is movement of some kind in the room/area, slight scuffles and taps/drips are scattered throughout. I'll give it a thorough going over later.

I'm still trying to make the audio more clear.

I'll tell you what I heard. "I want to kill her". But I didn't save the file after I edited it. I listened to it several times though, and to me it was rather clear.

The scuffles might be from my brother moving around(?). He was waiting on top of the crypt, relaxing. I cant tell if there is dirt on the roof or not, to deaden the noise he might have made.

I told him about this thread so maybe he'll post.

I am the person who took the photos and video/ audio. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
A few things I'd like to add is, no flash was used in any of those pictures. They were taken between 10:30A.M. and noon. The video and audio were done with no one around. Anything heard between 10 seconds after the start and 10 seconds before the end was not me.
To those who say the orbs are light reflecting off of dust, what about the orb outside in the 4th picture? Once again no flash was used.

We decided to go back next week with 2 digital audio recorders, as well as the cameras. I believe this time we will stay in the crypt and ask some questions for the first 5 minutes or so. While we are asking questions we will take pics as well. I want to use 2 recorders to see if both pick up the same thing, assuming we get anything at all that is! Any suggestions on questions to ask or how to go about this would be appreciated~
