If you are worried about the site getting shut down I suggest you start a petition. If you are going to start a petition I suggest you do it immediately. The longer a petition is available the more signatures you will get. Not everyone comes to ATS every day, week, month, year, etc. you know.

Perhaps another good idea would be to put a link to the petition on the home page or something so everyone can see it because not everyone checks their U2U.

Don't bother with an online petition. They're meaningless because they're easy to forge.

Instead, write to your congressmen in your district, explaining why you feel this is a bad idea and reassuring them that you accept the ads as part of the deal for seeing free content - just as television has its commercials.

Come to think of it, most of the MSM sites seem to be forcing brief commercials onto us without our permission. I'd much rather see an ad, than some video commercial.

well, just maybe, the burden should be on the 3rd party ad networks to find a way around this issue. after all, they are the ones who are in the biggest trouble here, aren't they...
