Just thought I should post about this interesting development.
Many of you probably know of the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake (
wiki), which took place on May
12th, 2008 and left hundreds of thousands people dead, injured and/or homeless.
On June 29th 2009, a guy posted a hearsay on a earthquake-themed Chinese forum, saying that on November 23rd, 2009
exactly, another earthquake
will hit Wenchuan
again.
His post is dated June 29th, 2009. This is the screeshot:
This is the link to the original thread, titled "I heard on Nov 23 2009 another earthquake measured at 5.1 will hit Wenchuan again." You can clearly
see the thread's date stamp:

People at the time naturally called bull# on this. Many were outraged, thinking this person is badmouthing or just being an insensitive brat...
And....
In a surprising turn of events, the earthquake did happen as said 17 months earlier. On November 23rd, 2009 a Richter scale 4.8 earthquake hit the
earthquake-torn county again, the only inaccuracy is that it is actually measured at 4.8 as oppose to 5.1. Other than that, he or she got the exact
date and the location right.
Xinhua news article:
M4.8 earthquake hits Sichuan

This is an exploding story on Chinese net. As of now the original thread reached over 1.1 million views and has gathered well over 26,000 replies.
This is crazy and creepy at the same time. Who told him? How did they do that?
edit:
Oops I got the year wrong. Fixed!
(I'm investigating and will hopefully give updates. I believe the chance of it being a deliberate hoax or some kind of conspiracy is much greater
than it being a pure coincidence. )
