I'm always looking at the sky at night and in the morning, however I never saw anything really weird until last week

For about 20-30 seconds i watched a single red orb fly North to South directly over my house. It was about the same luminosity/color as an infrared mouse light if that makes sense aka BRIGHT RED. It didn't flash and there were no other lights on it. It didn't waver at all...it was on a dead straight course.

I couldn't tell how high it was. In the sky it was about twice the size of a normal star...but if it was as high as most commercial planes when it went overhead, it was moving at least 10 times as fast. But for some reason i got the impression that it was rather low...maybe 2000 feet. It made absolutely no noise.

I'm used to seeing things flying around, I see planes and helicopters all of the time. It was dark out but it didn't look like any other form was there besides the red orb. I can almost always see an outline of a plane/helicopter even if it's dark outside.

So, i'm stumped. Was hoping some other Austinites might have caught a glimpse. It was last wednesday at around 7pm

I saw one about 2 months ago.

NW Ohio.

It was about 10pm, flying from West to East. No sound, just a red "glowing" light.

Were you able to judge how high it was? I just wish i could have. I did get the impression that it was low for some reason. So weird

I've seen 4 in 2 days over here in the UK. Small bright red light, nothing else, no blinking lights. Can't get them on my camera (phone one) as they're not bright enough. (I did try) But yes, I've seen these.

here's the Mufon Report well actually 2 of them

2009-11-22 2009-11-21 stream of orange glowing spheres traveling south/southwest, low altitude, silent. Probably between 100 to 200 spheres

Probably between 100 to 200 spheres I was sitting outside in my yard. I turned to look behind me and saw around 6 glowing orange sphere shaped objects traveling in the sky south to southwest toward me. I immediately called my sister across the street telling her to get outside quickly. I went into the street to get a clearer view. There still appeared to be 6 or so of them. When my sister got outside, I was in the process of calling my son to come outside also. It appeared that the 6 were about to pass by before I could get others outside to view them. Then, I saw more coming in the distance from the same direction as the first few. My son and sister came out and witnessed them flying over as well. It became a steady stream of these. I called my mother who lives next to me to come out. She came out and witnessed them. I called the police to ask if anyone could tell me what these things were. The dispatcher said "No, but I have an officer enroute". The officer arrived and told me he was watching this stream of objects from another area of our city and could see them miles away. He couldn't tell what they were either. We called the local airport and were told they had nothing on these things. As we watched them coming toward us, they were bright orange. As they started to pass over and move away from us, the light would dim until it went out like the light may have been on one side and as it moved past there was no light on the back. I spotlighted them, and got no reaction from them. But, the spotlight still didn't show what the thing was other than the orange glowing light. We watched the stream until the last one came over and disappeared. We still don't have any idea what they were. No one had a camera that could pick them up. It was a crystal clear sky at the time.

2009-11-22 2009-11-21 Approx. 100-200 orange glowing spheres moving NE to SW over Lufkin, TX.

My sister called me to come outside quickly to see the objects in the sky. By the urgency in her voice I knew something was not "normal". I had difficulty finding my keys to open my deadbolt lock and accidentally set off my alarm system. The alarm company called and asked if I was okay and I told them yes but I still needed a police officer because of what I was seeing in the sky. There were approx. 20 orange glowing objects moving from NE to SW over the area. They seemed to come in "waves" and we saw about 5-6 waves of them. A police officer arrived and stated he had seen them farther away and he stayed and watched several of the objects fly over with us. None of the people who were watching had any idea of what they were. We watched the objects for approx. 15-20 minutes before they completely left the area. Although the temperature was in the low 50's to mid 40's and I wasn't wearing a coat, I did not feel the cold. I was awestuck at the site. I could not take my eyes off of the objects. Even this morning, I can't get the images out of my mind.

I saw about 30 or so morphing orbs fly around and landing at LAX the other night.

I live in Austin. Haven't seen anything over the last few weeks, but haven't been looking. However, I saw something similar over the summer and reported it to Mufon and did a follow up internview. I guess it's ok to cut and paste the report, since I authored it; if not, admins please let me know. If it gets removed, check Mufon for travis county in Texas on 6/20/2009; it's the only one.

Long Description of Sighting Report
Today at 5:30pm, while swimming at the community pool at my mother in law's condo complex just off the corner of Ashdale and Burnet Rd, My wife, mother-in-law, and my two children witnessed a very loud and unnaturally low-flying military fighter jet formation. I believe they were F-16's judging by the wing configuration. They were 4 or 5. I am not sure because I was caught up trying to get everyone to look, and to try to reason whether or not law prevents low altitude fly overs of residential areas by military aircraft. I also noted that the speed of the military craft did not seem to be very fast, and based on the absence of a sonic boom, I can only assume they were not on afterburners. I will look that up after posting this report. Immediately after the military aircraft disappeared from view, I noticed a small, white single engine civilian aircraft at a much higher altitude (above or at least in the cloud deck) traveling in a flight path that was perpindicular to that of the fighter jets. As I tracked the smaller civilian aircraft, at some point, a small brightly glowing pink orb, sphere, or dot, whichever you prefer passed just "under" the civilian aircraft in the visual field. As my family and I tracked the object, we noted that it appeared to be small, was glowing bright pink, and was rapidly moving in a straight line on a course roughly opposite the course of the civilian aircraft. As it encountered clouds in the visual field, we noted that it remained visible and therefore must be moving at an altitude below the cloud deck. The object's speed compared to the military and civilian aircraft gave the impression that although it was obviously at a lower altitude, that it was traveling too quickly to have been a baloon blowing in the wind, which at this time was almost dead calm. We also noted that due to it's seeming flat, or even slightly ascending flight path, it's lack of a tail or trail, and due to it's speed, It could not be a meteorite or falling space debris. To comment specifically on the speed, it was moving as quickly at it's altitude as I have seen commercial airliners on a landing approach move at a similar altitude, so I concluded that it was moving so fast that it had to be moving under power or propulsion of some sort, and that it's speed was such that compared to other "shooting star" meteorite sightings I've had in the past, it was much too slow, and remained visible too long on a flat or slightly ascending flight path to be a meteorite or shooting star. Perhaps 5 to 7 minutes after the unidentified object left my field of vision, we all witnessed 2 more roughly spherical objects that appeared to be at the same altitude and on the same heading as the previous unidentified object. These two objects were traveling in a vertically opposed, tandem configuration. Both objects were oscillating colors between bright red and silver (reflective). The object at the top of the tandem configuration was very steady, but the object at the bottom of the tandem configuration was tumbling erratically, but maintaining same course and speed as the top object, and though it moved about under the top object erratically, it stayed a constant distance from the top object, roughly the equivalent of the diameter of either object (as they appeard to be roughly the same size). We watched it for as long as we could, observing it passing rapidly under clouds, and we exited the pool continuing to adjust our position on the ground until we could no longer track it without leaving the pool area. Continued below

Continuation from Above:

As the second pair of object left the visual field we observed what appeared to be a red and blue civilian helicopter on a heading to intercept the two objects, though at a much lower altitude. The helicopter seems to have been on the same basic flight path of the two tandem object, leading me to believe that the helicopter may have been observing and/or pursuing the tandem objects. The second sighting lasted roughly twice the duration of the first.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

No, you saw airplanes landing or taking off.

You're trying to be disruptive to this thread, not going to work.

If someone is seeing red orbs, they're seeing them, maybe an airplane, maybe not.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

My holiday vacation starts wednesday. if it's clear i plan on sitting outside and keeping an eye out. Maybe even drive to one of the lookout points in austin to scan for awhile. Seems like reports of these things are going crazy lately, would be nice to try and get one on video

as for the guy saying i saw an airplane, i've lived within 10 miles of major airports and a naval air station my whole life. I know commercial planes, jets, bombers etc. This was none of the above. It flew DIRECTLY over my house. Even when commercial aircraft fly 15-20k feet overhead i can hear them. This had no noise. If it was high enough to be silent, then it was going mach 10

This was in North Austin near Parmer/Mopac. It's been cloudy off and on lately so I haven't been able to see much of anything since this happened unfortunately

Last week the Leonid meteor showers occured, peaking on Tuesday, Nov. 17. In Texas, they were really visible from 1 to 5 in the morning hours. It is probably what you viewed.

i've seen meteor showers MANY times. I've seen shooting stars, fireballs, space stations, space shuttles, F16s, stealth bombers, stealth fighters, black hawks, chinooks, commercials jets, passenger planes, police helicopters etc. What i saw was none of the above. Not to mention i watched this thing stay one shape/size/color for at least 20-30 seconds
