No phalanx of armored dudes for this. Why not? The G20 Summit brought less than this to the downtown area, but that required battalions and sound weapons. Now, according to the authorities, there are twice as many people coming into downtown Pittsburgh, but no paramilitary. The county government contradicts itself. But I guess it's OK, we do what they tell us.

presumably they dont assume people to get violent at a "santa spectacular" whereas it could reasonably be expected at a G20 summit

a santa meeting is about sharing, a G20 meeting is about taking. pretty simple really. people are not stupid, and the wealthy always under-estimate, and thus never listen to, the lower classes, and that's why they have always been killed off from time to time in the past history of humans. people just stop taking crap from them.
i read once that the "old wealth" has a saying about the rest of the people..."give them just enough to NOT steal from us or kill us"
