A.K.A. Night of the Nephilim.

Hi all,

this is my first new Topic, so be gentle.

I'm not really a fan of the fashion scene, but these clips really caught my attention. These women have been made up to look alien, or are themselves alien.

anybody think that there is some strange ie. alien play afoot?

part I: www.youtube.com...

part 2: www.youtube.com...

I couldn't finish watching the first video. The music and the voices in the background were really bothering me. I felt like I was being entranced, and not in a good way.

If by "alien" you mean "looking like heroine addicts", I agree.

They definitely look like heroine addicts!

i mean alien in the their face make up, for sure. Just look at the little "star trek bumps" on their temples

very obvious in the second vid, they look very alien to me. and not because they are skinny...

I don't know man. Some of the outfits in the first part of video one, were actually pretty cool looking. Not sure about the shoes though! The hairstyles were kinda goofy, but fit the theme.

That was a well thought out and complete "vision" from the designer IMO. It would appear that "aliens" is the cool, hip trend everywhere right about now.

I couldn't help but watch, and I agree that the vids are a little freaky....it's obviously a very expensive and sophisticated production, and looks like HR Geiger was involved in the design process somewhere. I can see what you mean about the alien influence being present, but I don't think it's so much about aliens, as about the misogeny of incredible pieces of beautiful textile art on miserable and emaciated women, wearing shoes that remind me of the ancient Chinese practise of foot binding, leaving them immobile, and in pain....those freaky looking shoes simply cannot be comfortable.Or even safe. I would rather just see the clothes and not the women actually.

anybody notice the lizard / snake pattern on some of the girls?

it is all very cool deisgn, has to be one of the best fashion shows I have ever seen. and those shoes = runway pros only. can u imagine peeps buying up those ridiculours shoes?

so good, so fresh; and with a distinctly 'alien' edge to it, dont you think?

Those were some cranky, cranky supermodels... apparently smiling has gone completely out of vogue. I was waiting for one of them to snap an ankle on those shoes. Cool designs, though.

Hiya Mathius, and welcome to your first thread!

I think they're tapping into popular culture, and it's somewhat heartening that alien notions have become mainstream.

I really like the strange makeup -- not your conventional covergirl stuff, huh? Weird outfits, however if a woman is superskinny most anything looks okay on them. What about those cray-zee FMPs? They must be really hard to walk in. Pretty cool stuff. I used to see things sorta like this now and again when we lived in the San Francisco area, although usually that was around Halloween.

I like that the women aren't your standard slender beauties. They are striking -- at least to me -- and I appreciate a model who looks different and at the same time individual.

I hope what you were sorta hinting at is true: The notion that a sort of "soft" disclosure is coming about through a gradual acceptance. I thought the opening sequence in video #1 was interesting........

Sex + Alien = Taboo + interesting? S+A=T+I, so to isolate A, T/S + I/S = A

NEVERmind. Don't follow my train of thought. Tigers be there.

aliens use hair gel.

it's made with Human bodyfat. It's better for their complexion. /wink

and that's only after they have fed on human flesh and blood, of course.
