Obama says it: There's a chance he won't run in 2012

primebuzz.kcstar.com

In an interview with CNN in China, President Obama opened the possibility to not running for re-election in 2012 -- something that no president has done since Lyndon Johnson.

Here's what he said:

"You know, if - if I feel like I've made the very best decisions for the American people and three years from now I look at it and, you know, my poll numbers are in the tank and because we've gone through these wrenching changes, you know, politically, I'm in a tough spot, I'll - I'll feel all right about myself," Obama told CNN's Ed Henry.

Can you believe this guy! Not even in office a year and he's already giving up 'cause his Poll Numbers are in the tank!

I guess he's just Mad that we won't accept Socialism, (see Constitution) and involuntary servitude (gosh, has he heard of the 13th amendment).

Obama, Resign NOW and save us the hassle of throwing you out!

Let Freedom Ring!

Well maybe Obama is not like some others who would insist on useing fear tactics, voter fraud, and mud slinging political ads to get re-elected.

That's a good thing even if he does become a one term president after all.

This is a reverse psychology technique. Nothing more. Making it look like he is doing the rite thing, so people will VOTE for him.

Lets hope he doesn't do too much damage in the meantime.

I somehow think that there won't be any elections anywhere after the Global government implants itself. Elections will be a thing of the past. Maybe Obama already knows this?

Sneaky sneaky... sneaky.
The way things are going they might pass a bill to adjust the term for presidency by then; and I am not fond that he truly believes he is doing whats best for us.
But that said I am glad to hear this. Though he is admitting this already... it doesn't sound right... doesn't feel right if you get what I mean.
I don't know what to say...he has got charisma to sway the populace. A great puppet for sure. A bit of the time you almost wish that everything he was saying was for our benefit in the now and future; its not. So I don't hate this guy but I don't like him or at least what he is doing. Which is very little of what he promised (didn't vote for him either so don't assume so, I just try to respect everyone in some way, even my enemies if I had any).

Amatrine - I agree with you 100%..

Cheers!

(Edit for agreement with Amatrine)

Yeah I guess him using "fear tactics, voter fraud, and mud slinging political ads to get" elected in the first place was enough.

He won't have to run.

Dictators don't need elections...think about it, he knows what's coming.

That's not how it works. Even Stalin's regime had 'elections'. There will always be elections in America, but it may degenerate to elections in my home state MA. Only one candidate from one party is on almost every ballot.

I hope he does run in 2012. If anyone remembers the 1980 Presidential elections, I think you get the gist of what I'm saying.

I come from the position that they already know who's picked for the next election, and they are being groomed and prepared as we write on these pages.
Holy boiling bee hives batman, theyve already broken the election process, and they need to install the next massive basturd as soon as possible.
I Say we push for term limits, one and done for everyone,
and we all drive to washington and park any where we can.

I heard this exact same thing while Bush was prez.

Besides I've made up my mind to throw out both major parties and vote independent or not at all.

It's just that I HOPE Obama intends well. There is still time to see.

There won't be much change in a few months. With Congress up for reelection, many members will be avoiding controversial bills that may cost them their job.

Furthermore, if things continue as they are, Republicans will no doubt pick up seat. Gridlock Congress in Obama's last remaining years.

As far as reelection, Obama has too much of an ego not to run for reelection. I just can't see him giving up the spotlight.

Not exactly inspiring words from a "Yes We Can" POTUS. Often when you see people withdraw from a competition.. or even entertain thoughts of withdrawing, it's due to their fear of failure/loosing.

Perhaps Barry thinks it looks better if he goes out on his 'own terms' instead of suffering an embarrassing annihilation at the polls. He can then chalk it up as a party loss as opposed to a personal one when he goes to bed of a night time... having never 'technically' been beaten.

Nonetheless, it's a cowards game if he's going to scarper and leave his party to pick up the pieces. It's poor form to take your ball and go home if the game isn't going your way.

Did anyone actually read what he said?

here - the relevant part:

You know, if - if I feel like I've made the very best decisions for the American people and three years from now I look at it and, you know, my poll numbers are in the tank and because we've gone through these wrenching changes, you know, politically, I'm in a tough spot, I'll - I'll feel all right about myself,"

So, if he's felt like he's done his best, and if his polls are in the tank and after he's gone through these wrenching changes, then he'll feel all right about his service.

Y'all need to go back and learn how to diagram a sentence.

Edit - fixed a bolding error

Wow another wildly speculative Obama thread from a distant unknown source. Why does the right fear Obama so much?

Obama is a woosey among other things. This posting made my day. It's going to be a long three years with more of his passive-aggressive incompetence.

"Obama opened the possibility" he may not run in 2012? Maybe we are jumping the gun here about what he intends to do as that election is still 3 years away?? Maybe his not even through a quarter of his administration to fully decide?? Really??
