Confused for 15 years

Hi there iam looking for information or an answer to something that happened to me an my wife 15 years ago. My wife and I got off the bus coming back from work,it was 6 in the evening and dark my wife pointed to the field next to our house and asked what that light was,when I looked over there was three lights in a triangle formation about 400 feet above the ground,but the thing that struck us more was that this craft seemed to be hovering silently whilst emitting a spotlight from its centre which stopped around 6 foot from the ground,meaning the light did not touch the ground it actually stopped in mid air,this spotlight was only 20 feet away from us,we watched this for about a minute then the spotlight just rose and faded out and then the craft moved away silently and was gone from sight in about 5 seconds. 3 days later at 8 in the evening my wife and I were watching tv when we both suddenly turned to each other and said what was that,we felt as though we had suddenly just woken up even though we hadent went to sleep. Then 1 month later we were sleeping and my wife woke me to tell me someone was trying to break in,I grabbed a hammer and torch and went to the door when my wife turned up at my back and said someone was trying our bedroom window I opend thge curtain and shone my torch on the window and there was no one there I went outside anbd even though the ground was a half inch thick with frost there was no footprints except mine and no hadprints on the fence which is 6 foot high and spiked. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Gary. Scotland

Any mysterious marks/bruises on body?
