Bombshell: Uncovered Obama Statement — KSM Will Get ‘Full Military Trial’

www.breitbart.tv...

Video of speech,

Oh what a tangled web we weave,

Wonder what changed?

Coming soon to a civilian courtroom blocks from Ground Zero: Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the four other al Qaeda planners of 9/11. Be sure to get your tickets early, and don't forget to watch out for the truck-bomb barricades and rooftop snipers.

Attorney General Eric Holder, who dropped this legal bomb on New York yesterday, called his decision to move their trial on war crimes from a military courtroom at Guantanamo Bay to American soil "the toughest" he has had to make. Other words come to mind. For starters, intellectually and morally confused, dangerous and political to a fault.

Military Commissions Act of 2006

en.wikipedia.org...

"HR6166" redirects here. For the star (H Sco), see List of stars in Scorpius.
President George W. Bush signs into law S. 3930, the Military Commissions Act of 2006, during a ceremony on October 17, 2006 in the East Room of the White House.

The United States Military Commissions Act of 2006[1], also known as HR-6166, was an Act of Congress[2] signed by President George W. Bush on October 17, 2006. Drafted in the wake of the Supreme Court's decision on Hamdan v. Rumsfeld,[3] the Act's stated purpose was "To authorize trial by military commission for violations of the law of war, and for other purposes."[4]

Obama endorses military commissions for Guantánamo detainees

In signing the National Defense Authorization Act on Wednesday, President Obama has personally endorsed yet another attempt by the US government to conduct military-commission trials of terror suspects currently held at the Guantánamo detention camp.

Similar efforts have stalled with legal challenges and Supreme Court decisions. But supporters say that the Military Commissions Act of 2009 balances the demands of fairness and due process against a real-world need for flexibility when seeking to prosecute accused Al Qaeda leaders and supporters.

Critics say that the 2009 act is an improvement over prior versions of military-commission regimes passed during the Bush administration. But they say it is still substandard, offering a second-class system of justice designed to obtain quick convictions.

OK so in light of this information, how can Holder call for a civilian trial?

conflict-of-interest-ridden AG Eric Holder.

Pay attention to Eric Holder’s law firm and Gitmo detainees
By Michelle Malkin • January 23, 2009 02:41 PM

A good friend writes:

[A]s nearly 100 of the remaining detainees are Yemenis, reflecting that country’s refusal to assure security for repatriated Yemenis, note that AG nominee Eric Holder is a senior partner with Covington & Burling, a prestigious Washington, D.C. law firm, which represents 17 Yemenis currently held at Gitmo. From the C & B website:

michellemalkin.com...

Covington & Burling’s Gitmo bar roster has included some of the most radical detainee advocates; see David Remes, who peeled down to his underwear at a press conference in Yemen to draw attention to his clients’ plight and Marc Falkoff, who published a book of detainee poetry and who, in the book’s intro, compared their heroic struggle to the Jews held in concentration camps and Japanese Americans held in internment camps during WWII. [One of Falkoff's "gentle, thoughtful" young poets--a Kuwaiti "cleared for release" and repatriated in 2005--blew himself up in a truck bomb in Mosul last March, killing 13 Iraqi army soldiers and wounding 42 others.]

The fact that Mr. Holder, while Deputy Attorney General, pushed for the release of 16 violent FALN terrorists against the advice of the FBI, the US Attorneys who prosecuted them and the NYPD officers who were maimed by them,

Dang,

I don't know what to say.

Creating a potential monumental, extravagant, massive distraction all designed to conveniently put the previous administration and non-compliant elements within secret agencies on public trial before the American people and more importantly... the world.

Should be a good show.

It is a game neither side will win, corruption has infected both.

They are playing politics with broad, extremely dangerous potential implications. A corrupt administration taking on the previous in such a public way is a massive gamble. The safest bet is on the ones with all the powers.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed

He attended Chowan College, a small Baptist school in Murfreesboro, North Carolina, for a semester (beginning in 1983) before transferring to the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and completing a degree in mechanical engineering in 1986.[12][13] The following year he went to Afghanistan, where he and his brothers (Zahed, Abed, and Aref) fought against the Soviet Union during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. (Some sources claim that Khalid was fighting in Afghanistan before he moved to the United States.) There, he was introduced to Abdul Rasul Sayyaf, head of the Islamic Union Party. The 9/11 Commission Report notes on page 149 that "Sayyaf was close to Ahmed Shah Massoud, the leader of the Afghan Northern Alliance".

There is no doubt about that,

They don't even try and cover it up anymore, it is blatant in your face corruption.

Note too, he was senator Obama in that speech, back before I guess he thought about having to sign the death warrants if they are found guilty, and the implications of such. This way, if found guilty, the blood is not his hands. That in itself is fairly telling.

Not to mention, he said whatever he felt he had to according to which way the wind blew that day.

And, as others have pointed out, he will certainly try to drag the previous administration into this. It is politics at it's finest, still in campaign mode made for television drama, with a disregard for the people in the name of the need to shout SCORE!

It is not all politics.

There are people within various government agencies still very loyal to the former administration and strongly opposed to the current... Unwilling and non-compliant internal adversaries... The secret internal war!

The current General in charge (Holder) is going to take them to court in New York. Making good on previous threats which failed badly to motivate compliance with a very destructive agenda.

Stay tuned, sit back and enjoy the show... Watching it all implode in such a public way will be quite entertaining.

What you have seen in public is quite tame so far... Just imagine how bad things are behind the scenes... The things going on that the public will never see or know of!

Popcorn anyone?

"Enjoy the show"? "Entertaining"? "popcorn" for enjoying the show?

Isn't it important as to what kind of trial this terrorist will receive and how all this affects our country?

We should set back and "enjoy" the show? Not

This one believes that the terrorists are the ones who will actually be on trial in New York.
