I guess even Sesame Street is jumping on the bandwagon bashing Fox News...

Don't worry... this isn't a long video... about 36 seconds. It's about at the 30 second mark...

For your viewing pleasure...

Oh, great. Now we'll have hours of O'Reilly and Hannity spouting off about how un-American Sesame Street is, and how liberal the Henson legacy is proving to be, and how it's helping the terrorists......

I seen that and funny or not it has no place on a childrens show.

One would think that the one place free of political idiocracy would be Sesame Street.

I agree... Whether you like Fox network or not... this has no place on children shows.

A few points, if I may:

1. I guess I'm a bit out of touch, but do they still make Sesame Street? I remember watching that show when I was a kid. Or is this just a really old clip they dug up?

2. Will kids even get this joke? I really doubt children who watch Sesame Street are in tune with the political leanings of major news networks.

3. I absolutely love how everyone is assuming this is a politically motivated slander. Fox news is supposed to be the fair and balanced one, right? Isn't Fox supposed to be the one that doesn't take sides? At least that's what everyone who watches it is always saying to me.

But of course, as soon as someone trashes Fox news they're spreading 'leftist propaganda'. If they had replaced Fox with NBC or CNN, I highly doubt the same people would be complaining about the reference...

Really, it seems to me like the writers at Sesame Street just wanted to slip a little joke in that they knew kids wouldn't get. I don't think it's a good joke, because personally I think it fails to work on a lot of levels, mostly because of the target audience. 4 and 5 year olds who are learning Abc's and how to count don't know or care about Fox news, so give them a break! They have maybe 14 good years of childhood before they get exposed to all of the political garbage that is plaguing our country, let's let kids be kids.

I just honestly feel sorry for the kids who's parents are the hard-core 'righty' types that will now ban their children from watching Sesame Street because its "liberal propaganda". Poor kids...

This is just what I would expect from a show on a Liberal publicly funded news station.

I don't think we should make too much about it unless it becomes a habit. That would just reduce us down to being a bunch of whiny crybabbies like the ones on the left that throw a tantrum anytime anything disagrees with their distorted world view.

I say ignore it, unless they start going wild with it.

But I have always thought that we should stop funding PBS with government money. Why should tax payers susidize a TV station when we have like 500 free ones, most of which turn a profit and pay taxes into the system as oppose to sucking them up.

Here on ATS we do not discuss conspiracy anymore.

NWO - not as important as praising conservatism
UFOs - dem alieums betta be conservative
9/11 - how dare you question the official story
Cryptids - liberals in disguise

stay classy ATS, stay class

People, get your heart off of your sleeve and put on your big kid pants. Kids have no idea what the joke might be. Besides it goes just fine with the history of Oscar.

You guys really are reaching too far if you think this is some kind of liberal conspiracy to attack Fox News.

you are right, they would be. And they would be right to, there is no place for this kind of propaganda (either way) in children's programming

Maybe becaue they actually take the time to broadcast intellectual material and educational material. Other stations turn a monetary profit and pay taxes. However, have you considered the tax they place on the population? These profit earning stations are the same ones bringing you brain dead reality shows and soft core porn.

Maybe it is just me, but I think it is worth funding an alternative.

I'm betting that this was a voice over put out by Fox themselves to make themselves look like the victim of more indoctrination.

Yes that was a joke.

haha actually i wish the whole bit was on here because it all looks like a huge sattire the way the 'king' and 'queen' are kissing him and saying how they love the poparazi and why they were doing that

and, kids don't get sarcasm - it is a proven fact. Meaning that it isn't so much a joke, as one of their "friends" saying that foxnews is trash. whether it is or not is irrelevant.

Ya'll need to listen closer. She doesn't say FOX news, she says "POX" news... which fits right into the persona of the grouches mythology.

You know, being all about trash, gross things, etc.

And yes. I get "the joke" in it all. Just saying, don't overblow things here lol

Seasame Street was taken over by political gangsters some years ago- The Sesame Street of 2009 is a far cry from the Sesame Street of 1969.

If you watch the new shows, they're utterly awful. Parents today must have stomach churns when they watch the Sesame street of 2009 with their children.

Apparently, Sales of DVDS of earlier seasons of Sesame Street are through the roof, exposing millions of children to bowl haircuts and bell bottoms.

Hmmm a conspiracy in itself?

There is no journalism free of bias, no news free of perspective, no statement free of context, no television free of funding, and certainly no childrens' programming free of ideology.

If you're concerned about the media wars, you've been duped. If you think it's a problem that someone has been bashing on Fox News in particular, then you've really been duped.

This should not surprise anyone. After all, the left-wing has always supported "public television", and in turn, "public television" has been VERY subservient to the left wing in the US.

I would, however be surprised if Sesame Street had replaced FoxNews with MSNBC. Everyone knows how straight Rachel Maddow (no pun intended ) and Keith Olbermann are with the news.

Not as overt as The Angry Pig commercials on cartoon network (I saw it for the first time last week, while babysitting sick niece) talk about marketing! "Don't eat pork or pork byproducts" ... really, must we aim this at kids? WTH?
