At Least 7 Dead, 12 Wounded in Shooting at Ft. Hood in Texas

BNO: Official: 1 shooter killed; 2 other suspects arrested.

Shooters were in fact soldiers.

all gunmen now in custody or dead. I just hope there are not more they don't yet know of.

it's a very legit comment

but I think it deserves it's own thread rather than in here

see it's one thing to comment and derail while the thread event is still in occurence, and it's another to post somewhat off-topic in a thread regarding an event that happened in the past.

i am former army, the army does not release this kind of info ever this quikly!

we had a psycho go off on post and kill 2 people with a rifle and it didn't hit the press for 1 and 1/2 days later!

there is something wrong with this situation! and don't say it's because of the current political/social climate!

normally they would rectify/end/contain the situation then release info to the public!

so knock it off! wait to find out what really happened and stop speculating! Your just feeding the frenzy! and possibly giving the government a reason to do something horrific to US because of perceived

12 dead and 31 wounded is what I am hearing on the msnbc network on my tv. One solider was a sergant major who was arabic.

yes just look at some of the reactions so far. OH MY GOD THIS IS SCARY! LOL This story happened hours ago. It's not like the gunmen were going to go ape # and start shooting local schools and neighborhoods. What I find alarming is how quickly Obama is going to give a news conference. That is even more strange.

Will this be used to keep domestic military armed?

This is awful. I meant Nov. 7th by the way.
This time change has me a whole month off.

I will agree with you that the information and media coverage seems either like a vast improvement from past incidents, or totally contrived in preparedness.

As I said earlier, all weapons are locked up on base. People aren't sitting around with loaded weapons all day long. And it doesn't really have anything to do with defense.

Poor soldiers and civilians
They just graduated from training and get mown down by a bunch of cowards

i'm interested in the 3 M-61's missing according to the scanner..

If there are more shooters waiting for the "green light" it could get messy when large groups of people come together.
