Yeah was quite a tough one to approach. I think neformore had th more difficult side though, but he's a pretty classy debater

Actually, I think he may be having some regrets about not signing up for this tournament now that he has to watch me work on my posts. But up til the past week or so he was in crunch mode at work, programming 12-14 hours a day to get a product shipped in time

Its been fun. Difficult topic but it got me thinking on different levels thats for sure and its been a nice distraction at lunch times doing some research - although gawd only knows what the IT section at work makes of my lunchtime reading recently

Still I avoided the cookbook, so the guys at 6 won't be paying me a visit anytime soon I hope!

I feel a major problem creeping up upon our collective existence ...

Looks like most if not all of the debates are going to be wrapped up around christmas.
Give or take the usual week to ten days, we're not going to be seeing judgements until the next decade!

S-dog: I'm conceding now to you based upon the fact that if the papers i got today are any indication , RL is going to be taking all my time for the foreseeable future, no need to judge... I can't continue on to another round at this point.

There's no need to concede though, if you win it will go on your win record and you will get the ranking points. All that would happen is that your next round opponent would get a bye. I wouldn't want to move on in the tournament if I have lost as it wouldn't seem right. However I will obviously leave it up to chissler to make the final decision.

None of this matters of course in light of your RL situation ... let us know if I/we can do anything to help. I'm always around via U2U if you need someone to reach out to.

It was mentioned that we would be taking a break in the debate for the holiday. Unfortunately my debate is still underway due to various late postings, I leave tomorrow and won't be online for a couple of days. I haven't seen any announcements about the previously mentioned break, however.

Wormwood and I are in the same situation. We've arranged (through u2u's) to be really flexible with each other about deadlines in this debate, since the timing has been hard for both of us.

I'm hoping (but no promises) to be able to post my second reply before I leave town today, then I'll be out of town through Saturday, back Sunday-Tuesday, and out of town again until Jan. 3. I'd love to have our debate finished before I leave for the second trip, but who knows.

The last 2 debates are taking a bit of time I've noticed, however we are in the thick of the holiday season. I'd like to see these done by the New Year, but if not.. we'll survive. Please, no later than January 5th on this round. I'd like to have these debates off to the judges very early in January and get the 2nd round up by the 2nd week.

I've been scarce around these parts lately but I do check my u2u's every 2-3 days. So any comments/questions, let me know.

I am going to secede from the tournament.

I apologise to my esteemed opponent from the last round, as we are still awaiting the result, and I would rather have them win on their merits than by default.

My reason - I am going to stop participating as part of ATS. It is becoming increasingly obvious to me that myself and others are being suppressed in our discussion of ATS's Christian agenda. Several times I have asked the moderation team to step in and stop the 'bullying' Christian fundamentalists and it hasn't happened. Furthermore, it appears several of the moderation team are actively participating in the perpetration of this Christian agenda.

It's a shame, as there are some truly excellent folks on this site, and I would love to stick around and chat. But I don't condone bullying, so I can't.
