'Twin Towers' warship enters NY

news.bbc.co.uk

A warship built with steel salvaged from the World Trade Center has arrived in New York City.

The USS New York sailed up the Hudson River to near Ground Zero, where it fired a 21-gun salute in tribute to those killed in the 2001 attacks.

Hey all not too sure what to say about this as the story says it all itself. There is better pictures on the second link, look forward to read your comments on this one.

The USS New York sailed up the Hudson River this morning. The $1 billion ship was built in Louisiana with about 7.5 tons of World Trade Centre steel melted down and used in the bow.

It's a great ship but I'm still not sure how I feel about the use of WTC steel in its construction. There are a lot of lost souls attached to that steel and I am a superstitious old sailor. Who knows? I hope the ship serves its purpose and its crew well.

Yeah I sort of feel the same, is it really a tribute or just cost cutting? And for those that say it was an inside job its a bit of a joke. How many people lost their lives to this tragedy and they go and make war machines out of the remains, bit crazy if you ask me

Ah Ha...

Trying to galvenize the public, instill Nationalism &
evoke the the spirit of 'Paybacks are hell'

the memorial of Lights (a more fitting tribute) has been blotted out by the
maritime death platforms

This seems wrong..its my understanding, that right after 9/11, cleanup crews were too quick to act...usualy thats a sign of covering things up* hiding evidence. Why do we need another warship comes to mind, with all our so called precise missles and bombs? jsut sounds like an excuse to hide the evidence. it took al this time to build a warship? WWII, we were turnig out warships in months! didnt tkae 8 years to make 1 warship..i think somethings wrong and up with this.
Besides, they havnt even started anything, with the freedom tower. 8 years for a warship? goes to show, thier will never be piece in the world, as long as the miltiary industrial complex keeps rolling.

it costs $$$$, to maitian and keep the hip around..they have money to make a ship that will never got to war, just sit at port for go knows how long, till it too, in time, has its funding cuts and sold to a scrap yard, but no money to help the economy???

I'm not sure if using WTC steel is a good idea... I mean, I really wouldn't want material that is prone to "thermal expansion" to be responsible for my safety on the water! What would happen if there's a fire on board? I would hate to see the whole ship crumble into nothingness in the open sea.

I wonder how it wa payed for* remeber after 9/11, the maoyr was it? NY? they had that $50 million package for those who helped, for medical reasons, and as far as i know, not one person wa eligable or allowed access to it, when they needed it! me thinks maybe that money that was suppose to help the freedom works* was used to help make a ship taht will jsut sit at port and rust*

Me personally... this is like them saying... HAHA... no way you got evidence now. They took the steel from the trade center and rushed this to be built. Now there is no evidence that we can go back and say whether thermite was used or any other kind of explosive.

thats what im saying strong! they were in quite a hurry to remove the metal debris* Yeh its gotta be cleaned up and everything regardless, but yuode think* any kind of evidence usualy sits in a room or place until further investigation has been bought to justice*
Ide like to do a little digging on this, and see how long they have been building this ship* trace it back in time, break things down, and lok for tell tale signs of coverup*

We'll have to watch no-one drops a lit match anywhere on the hull then won't we...

...Apparantly that steel melts at quite low temperatures

They blow the twin towers up and make a weapon out of the scraps..

Not sure what I think about this..

Did anyone else think of that short story where a worker was trapped in the ships hull and banging could be heard? I wonder if their are any stories about ghosts on this ship?

Maybe we should start a rumor right here.

A buddy of mine, in the navy, stationed on the ship has said their are strange noises and apparitions being seen in that area of the ship.

Its probably the noises of the lost and terrified souls that were betrayed used as pawns to start an illegal war for oil.

I know - I think it is despicable. Why America requires another warship is beyond anyone, they have a cheek spending that much money on anything other than what the people actually require.

I guess WAR WAR WAR is all they are interested in. China must have got the rest of the steel then, as reported. They will probably put some explosives in it and sink it off the coast of Iran, to start the war on Islam / or Terror (oh no that was last time - sorry) / or Ice Cream / Whatever...

Having read endless about paranoraml stuf, and my experince with an oujia board when i was yuonger..it its posible, for a ghost to hang around after death. Usualy in cases of unexpected death, just like the twin towers. Its nromal, for some reason, for a ghost, to attach itself with furniture, belive it or not, perticualrly if its certain kinds of wood. In this case its steel* yes it is possible.. personally if i wa yuor freind, ide try to make some contact with it..aka knock one for yes, 2 for no. He could try an ouija board to communicate, who knows! maybe willg et info about what happened! but they are an invitation to malgnant spirits too so its a risk.
That is awesome, your friend is stationed thier* ask him if he has ever noticed things mysteriously disapperaing, things moving around, you know paranormal stuff* sound like ther wa so much emotional sad stuff from those who died in the towers, it remained in the steel* that is very possible, belive it or not..yet its not understood. kinda like pearl harbor...i remember storys fo people who have gone to tours thier,a nd claim to have heard, crying, and banging on the ships haul, as if it was a reinactment when the ship was bombed by the japanese.

those were my thoughts exactly: I have a feeling we will hear some interesting stories of other worldly encounters from this ship... and to the sailors on board I say don't forget to pray for the repose of those souls lost in this terrible crime-

That is great, taking the steel from the twin towers that killed 3000 people to create a warship so the 'steel' can go on maybe killing more people else wher.. Superb..

Quite frankly, what they should have done, wa make the freedom tower out of the same steel from the twin towers if anyting at all! not make a warship that could be used for the pentagons maliscous war programs, too kill other people with
sad to say, i wonder if this will go down in history now, as the US or worlds most disliked or unfavored ship. They should have made someting peaceful out of tthe scrap metal.
Eh, who knows, even if they had made a tower with the leftover scrap, the tower would be haunted then* no pun intended...
