I'm disappointed by the lack of ATS members, apart from myself, who've read the draft Copenhagen Treaty. Instead of partisan arguments - read the damn thing. He was my summary from another thread

[P = paragraphs]

P.24 - stop unilateral measures from nations states in terms of countervailing goods and services. Overules national law

"Conference of the Parties", governed by the Convention will set short term targets and monitoring their success.

P.36- 37 New institution that will provide legal framework. Provide technological and financial support to developing nations.

P.38 The word "government" appears along with "executive body" in relation to the new institution in p36-37

P.50 Institutional arrangements are explained under the self titled section.

P.55 efficient system of governance

P.57 Bureaucracy are named and explained. Refereed to as "branches"

A few examples. The word "nation state" is replaced by "parties"

Black and white, all to see. The formation of a world government is spelt out in the treaty, even referred to as a "system of governance" with an executive body. The document explains how it will operate and how the "financial branch of the executive" will be financed.

First paragraphs present an innocent picture, painting a utopia that will save the planet. From paragraph 38 on wards - the real agenda emerges. Words such as "governance", "convention", "international co-operation", "executive body" and "global institutions" appear frequent. Even how this treaty, international law (over-rules national), will carry penalties and monitored by the United Nations.

As the treaty concludes, there is no getting away from this.

The EU is not the world. How does this bring about a "world" government? I think you are going to an extreme.

You're right that the EU is not the world, but it's sort of the drawing board for the basis of world government.

EU doesn't hold sway over what American's do, but that doesn't mean we won't follow this treaty. I dunno.

I understand that but again the world is way bigger than the EU and the US as well.

Absolutely, for an actual world government to take hold there would have to be some sort of world wide treaty, and that more than likely would be drawn up at the UN and not the EU.

Although it could be the first phase of world government and that could very well be what the OP is saying.

Edit: This is a UN treaty. God help us all.

Wow, it is. I didn't notice that. It doesn't matter, a good deal of the US citizenry hate the UN.

Excuse my inability to sift through a lot of black and white data. This is a treaty that will be signed by all nation members of the UN, or it is simply being proposed, and will have to go through much debate?!

I'm not really sure how this process would work out. Can someone help a laymen out, here? Thanks.

Don't be too disappointed. The propensity for a myopic view of things is foisted upon us by those who claim to know better and 'lead'.

This treaty is a harbinger of things that have been under construction for almost a century.

The more I reflect upon the evident goal, the less likely I see it succeeding.

But then - these people do keep secrets... so I am glad there are folks out there who are paying attention.

Ultimately, there are only two groups at play in the fields of the Lord. Those who exploit, and those who are exploited. This document - like many of it's adjuncts and contemporaries is a tool for exploiters.

Too bad the people are kept from fully understanding until it's too late.

After reading UNFCCC, it is readily apparent that starting on page 18 under section 38, articles a, b and c that the direction and goal of this treaty is to form a world government that will be funded by the carbon tax. All the carbon tax monies would go to the COP (COP in article 38.a) which would exercise control over all the "parties" (read originally sovereign state governments) that are party to the treaty. Article 38.b is about the transference of wealth from developed nations to developing nations to equalize the "parties" to the agreement. Article 38.c concerns enforcement of the treaty.

Prepare for what is coming, Canada is signing the treaty and so is the POTUS apparently. Any and all third world countries will sign the treaty as it is in their best interest to be a party to receiving wealth transfer from developed nations such as the US, Canada, the EU, etc.

This isn't rocket science, it should be pretty easy to figure out what is going on. At least Canada, the US and all the past EU governments have been hijacked. Every time you exhale, some offshore bureaucratic wanker for the UN is going to be taxing you and telling you what you can't do while they send a bit of your CO2 tax money to some other person in a third world country who is picking up a gun for the UN to enforce their scam of a treaty.

While this treaty is sick. It is my thoughts that only the US Senate can Ratify any treaty? If I am wrong please correct me? If that is the case and it is passed giving up US Sovereignty in full Violation of the US constitution then you can expect 100 Senators to look for an excuse to like always to circumvent the Constitution.

Ermm...Did you read the "United Nations" bit or did you post away without thinking

As bobs_uruncle pointed out - this will be financed by a Carbon Tax.

Excuse my inability to sift through a lot of black and white data. This is a treaty that will be signed by all nation members of the UN, or it is simply being proposed, and will have to go through much debate?!

No debate. Treaty drafted and will be signed by all United Nations members.

The treaty is very draconian towards those who do not sign or govern by the measures within the text. Are you understanding why Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize and will accept it at this summit now?

The world will be united one day...it simply will. In the same way caves banded together to make a tribe, tribes to villages, villages to towns, states, countrys, multicountrys now make unions, and soon yes...it is a absolute destiny of our civilization, and I would venture to say any advanced civilization.

So...the only question that will ever be relevant is, how will it come about, by the will of the people influencing how it does, or by the strongarm of the politicians done behind the scenes...

Which version do you choose, there is no 3rd option, its left or right and thats it.

Start voicing your concern that you want to be heard on how it comes together, not that it shouldn't...its like yelling at the tide not to come in.

This treaty is very concerning indeed. While I am no history buff, I have a feeling that the literal establishment of a One World Government (OWG) is closer now than at any time in recorded history. I am talking about a OWG with the power, money, resources and influence to rule the entire planet. Combine this with the fact that we have the technology and communications infrastructure necessary to implement this.

The future does not look too promising for those of us not too thrilled about a potential One World Government...

On a side note, has anyone seen the article which states Afghan soldiers are training here in the US???? Expand that to the extensive training given to different South American (dictators) in the 90's which help create the "passive" (in relation to the UN) but brutal practices (when it comes to the citizens).

To the point, there is a great video up on You Tube (The Obama Deception) that lays out the lies that were given to the American people during the election (I know it was directed by Alex Jones). Even if you dont believe in the person who made the video it is plainly obvious to any person who wants to listen that this is happening.

Now, Obama is signing this and it will get through NO MATTER WHAT....

(the conspiracy) - Our last 4 elections are simple Police tactic GOOD COP BAD COP - CLinton - Good Cop Bush 2x Bad Cop Obama Ultimate GOOD COP....

They have found the perfect person to finally expedite the process....perfect.
