UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJECTS
33.2 OPERATIONAL DOMAINS - TEMPORAL AND SPATIAL
Evidence of perhaps an even earlier possible contact was uncovered by Tschi Pen Lao of the University of Peking. He discovered astonishing carvings in granite on a mountain in Hunan Province and on an island in Lake Tungting. These carvings have been evaluated as 47,000 years old, and they show people with large trunks (breathing apparatus?...or "elephant" heads shown on human bodies? Remember, the Egyptians often represented their gods as animal heads on human bodies.)

CHOW REVEALS SECOND CHINESE DISCOVERY
Dr. Ho-Chung Chow, University of Peking archeologist, who Friday stunned members of the HAB Symposium with his relation of an immensely important archeological discovery unknown to the Western world for a quarter of a century, today added another note o? excitement to the discussions
Chow related that a colleague in his department at the university, Dr. Chi Pen Lao, was exploring caves in July 1961 in Hupeh Province west of Yoyang. In the Hohan Mountains at the south shore of Tungf Ting Hu (a large lake) he entered a cave and followed it inward and downward. At 32 meters (105 feet) beneath the surface he encountered a large domed room with glazed walls, from which numerous squared tunnels moved off deeper into the mountains in a confusing, interconnecting network. As in the main chamber, the tunnels had a glazed surface as if they had once been melted.
Chow described some of the unusual items found by Dr. Lao, but stressed that no spiral disks had been located here. However, an intricately rendered painting on one wall depicted a wide variety of animals all being driven in one direction by men above them riding on what he called "a shield-like flying platform" and clad in very modern-looking trousers and jackets. The men held what appeared to be long pipes to their lips, which they were pointing toward the animals...

The geologist Thuinli Lynn told me about a discovery that is unknown to the western world.
During excavations in the “Valley of Stones” in July, 1961, Chi Pen Lao, Professor of Archaeology in the University of Peking, came across an underground cave system. At a depth of 105 feet he found entrances to a labyrinth in the spurs of the Honan mountains, on the south shore of Lake Tung Ting, west of Yoyang. He located passages that undoubtedly led under the lake.
The passage walls were smooth and glazed. The walls of one hall, into which several passages led, were covered with paintings. They represented animals, all fleeing in one direction, driven by men who held “blowpipes” to their lips. Above the fleeing animals, and this is the sensational part of the account as far as I am concerned, flies a shield on which stand men holding weapon-like implements which they are aiming at the animals.
The men on the “flying shield,” says Mr. Chi Pen Lao, wear modern jackets and long trousers. Mr. Lynn thinks that scholars have probably succeeded in establishing the date when the tunnel was built, but news from Red China only emerges sparingly and after long delays. The report of the “flying shield” and the men aiming at the animals from above at once reminded me of a museum piece which had left an indelible impression on my memory. It was the skeleton of a bison (Fig. 44), whose brow had been pierced by a neat shot, and I had seen it in the Museum of Paleontology in Moscow.
The original home of the bison was Russian Asia. The age of my fossil bison was dated to the Neolithic (8000 to 2700 B.C.), when weapons were still made by flaking stones, and the most modern weapon created in that period was the stone axe.
A blow with a stone axe would inevitably have shattered the bison’s skull, but under no circumstances could it have left a bullet hole. A firearm in the Neolithic? In fact, the idea seems so absurd that the experts could dismiss it with a wave of the hand, if it were not for the fact that the Neolithic marksman’s bison trophy is on show in Moscow.

Scientists excavating a Stone Age cave on South Africa’s southern coast have followed a trail of engraved pigments to what they suspect are the ancient roots of modern human behavior.
Analyses of 13 chunks of decorated red ochre (an iron oxide pigment) from Blombos Cave indicate that a cultural tradition of creating meaningful geometric designs stretched from around 100,000 to 75,000 years ago in southern Africa, say anthropologist Christopher Henshilwood of the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and his colleagues. Their report appears online and in an upcoming Journal of Human Evolution.

During the 1st ICBP 2008, the conclusions of radiocarbon dating of a wooden fragment found in Ravne tunnel system were presented by Prof. Dr. Anna Pazdur and archaeologist Andrew Lawler. The obtained results of two indipendent Radiocarbon labs (Kiel, Germany and Gliwice, Poland) will doubtlessly further boost interest for the project of the Bosnian valley of the pyramids.
The obtained dates of 31,000 BP and/or 34,000 BP (possibly 42,000 BP) now will surely raise some questions:
How old is Ravne tunnel complex?
How old are the Bosnian pyramids?
Mysterious and alluring, the underground city is a motif often used in science fiction. But there are two ancient Turkish cities that represent one of the many cases of a reality greater than fantasy.
Like a society of actual mole people, the inhabitants of Central Anatolia carried the concept of underground living to the extreme.
Found more than 100 feet below the surface, the ancient city of Derinkuyu is probably the most impressive of the underground cities found in this area. Archeologists have determined this sprawling subterranean complex of tunnels and rooms once offered secure refuge to about 100,000 people.
...Archeologists have explored an extensive 130 feet below the surface, uncovering an impressive array of rock-carved dwellings. But some estimate that there is still much more to explore as the city is thought extend at least 260 feet into the earth.
Each slab is about 10cm thick, on average.
Technology including satellite photography and thermal imaging is being used to develop a better understanding ofthe site’s hidden features...
The pyramid walls are built from the megalita breče stone. Blocks of different sizes are typically used to build pyramids. These stone blocks have been excavated some 150 m away from the apex of the pyramid. Further excavations are underway in the surrounding areas to map the blocks and underground tunnels.

According to Mr Sarmast the latest evidence matches exactly the detailed description of Atlantis given by Plato.
"There are about 60 specific points that match Plato's account," he said. "How can you explain away a bunch of coincidences like this?"
In an article published online by the journal Nature, Nicholas J. Conard of the University of Tübingen, in Germany, and colleagues wrote, “These finds demonstrate the presence of a well-established musical tradition at the time when modern humans colonized Europe.”
Although radiocarbon dates earlier than 30,000 years ago can be imprecise, samples from the bones and associated material were tested independently by two laboratories, in England and Germany, using different methods. Scientists said the data agreed on ages of at least 35,000 years.
Dr. Conard, a professor of archaeology, said in an e-mail message from Germany that “the new flutes must be very close to 40,000 calendar years old and certainly date to the initial settlement of the region.”
Dr. Conard’s team said an abundance of stone and ivory artifacts, flint-knapping debris and bones of hunted animals had been found in the sediments with the flutes. Many people appeared to have lived and worked there soon after their arrival in Europe, assumed to be around 40,000 years ago and 10,000 years before the native Neanderthals became extinct.
The Neanderthals, close human relatives, apparently left no firm evidence of having been musical.
