A couple of possible things.
1. It was brushed out of the 60's version as a cover and missed latter.
2. The structure was constructed between early picture date and the 90s version.
3. Google is playing a game with the public.

doesn't seem very likely, i would think that if they censored objects from the 60's imagery than they would keep some kind of database of what and
where they deleted, forgetting to delete them again in newer imagery is very improbable

aye, that's what i think
3. Google is playing a game with the public.
may be... it would be worth trying to find official images from NASA... if they are publicly available on the net... i'll try if i have time
Wouldn't it be funny if John Lear was 100% right about all the "nonsense" he kept telling here on ATS? The latest NASA mission was such a strange
event that I'm open to a lot more possibilities ...
If you guys notice, there are several craters surrounding this "base" of comparable size which are seen in both images. The "base" has a great
deal more contrast so I do not believe that it was in the original 60's image. This seems pretty small and subtle to be a Google Easter Egg IMHO.
There is no doubt in my mind the structure is of intelligent design, and anyone who knows anything about geometry,or even a good artist could tell you
that just from the lines. The question is,who built it?
can a large ground based telescope with 50megapixel camera not get a better look at this? Just curious what it would take to get decent resolution
shots from Earth if money were no object..
