I am curious if anyone knows much abt dule base.
I grew up in a town called Aztec Nm which is not that far from the town of dulce. I am curious becasue as I read through some info on the base I remembered a couple of things from my childhoof.

There was a sandstone hill (prolly close to 300-400 ft high).. we used to play on it all the time.
I remember one time we were having a BB gun fight ( Ahh the days of no fear) and I fell & landed on a ledge, there was a crack in the stone & I looked down & saw
light at the bottom prolly 20-30 feet down.. it was not like daylight.. more artificial, unless it was coming through another crack & the sanstoe reflected the light in a yellowish hue..... still it intrigues me

Also we found another location abt 3 miles away or so where a creek runs into a huge hole in the ground...
we could barely see the bottom so it was prolly 50 ft deep, btu we could hear the water hitting bottom... we always wanted to go in there but could never figure out how to rig a ladder or something so we could get in & OUT SAFELY...

THAT ONE KINA CREEPED US OUT THE HOLE WAS ABT 8 FT IN DIAMETER...
iT WAS PROLLY JUST A CAVERN, BUT i WONDER IF IT WAS CONNECTES SOMEHOW.....
the only info I can find abt dulce is rumor at best.
just wondering if anyone has visited the area & maybe has pics....

I also remember one after noon when I was abt 12
we heard a very loud explosion... it shook the windows the news showe it many many miles away
(very large explosion)... I remember a pic showing a crater in the side/top of a cliff.. there was never a clear explanation given.. some said a kid playing with dynamite some said a meteor/ite
that I know of there was never a concrete answer.. I need wto see if I can find an article,,,,

As a longtime resident of New Mexico, and as someone who travels in this area, I think the 77 miles from Aztec to Dulce was a bit much for a childhood foray. keep in mind that this is high mountain terrain and is difficult to traverse. In no way is this post a denial of Dulce's unusual qualities, far from it, there is overwhelming evidence of Dulce's over development relative to its population and indigenous economic infrastructure.

Fyi the foothill I mentioned was at the end of my street less that a half mile away..... I didnt make that clear .. I apologize.. (a bit less than 77 miles no?)

I was just noting it strange to see what appeared to be man made light at the bottom of a crevase....
also the light patter seemed to be coming from withinn the hillside.. not from without....

: (

can't you just go back (I understand you don't live there anymore) and investigate a bit?

I think this dulce thing needs to be investigated deeply, because the only stories I heard from people about it were something like "I saw there was no road so I turned back home".

maybe if there is a base it isn't at dulce at all, maybe it's in this Aztec town. anyway, I heard there is no heat from it and therefore it doesn't excists, but if it uses some alien technologie then maybe it is possible.

I do plan to return &check it out some day.. I just hope I can remember the location of the crevasse... The stream may be no problem unless it is private property not.. it used to be by an old drive in theatre.

I havent been there in over 20 yrs, so I dont know when I will get the chance to return

Could it have been an aircraft going supersonic? The story on the news could have been a cover story, especially if it happened a while ago. Maybe the military didnt want to fess up to doing testing in that area.

I cant believe with all the rumors and speculation that there is about Dulce that nobody has gone out to investigate. You should definitely go back and poke around, and fill us in on what you find.

Believe me ... that area was prone to sonic boom activity.

I very well knew the difference even then.
With a sonic boom the noise usually is not directional & you only hear it if you are in the "noise cone" I cant remember the real term so that will have to do. a sonic is also obvious due to it coming from over head... this definitely came from a south/southeast direction.
and the ground also shook... also something that a sonic boom dos not usually do!

I do plan to return one day & poke around.. I was trying to research the explosion, but I dont remember the exact location & there are no online news resources I have found that far back..
