ahh im really sorry to hear that this BS of a mainstream news story was actually covered to this level on ATS. I usually don't post, i just read. but its sad that all of the "live" feeds never showed anybody in the balloon and it goes to 20 somthin' odd pages?

really? cmon yall. I would have thought better from actual cognitive minds. publicity stunt? dumb kid? or just dumb country parents? maybe all three.

In this video we have the press ask the oldest son (who we had been told witnessed the younger one get in) if he saw Falcon get in the craft....he just stands there and shakes his head no...


Then we have the father divulging a bunch of weird info about this aircraft "experiment". Supposedly this was not your normal helium weather balloon.

1mil volts?
'Plasma Fields' for directional steering?
WTF?


Father is asked in the interview: what did you do when you found out? Did you call 911?
His answer: he looked around and then called the FAA.

Just so you all know, a million volts is really easy to accomplish.

Actually they sell stun guns the size of the palm of your hand that use 1 million volts, with low amperage, so you don't kill someone. They actually have 500 million volt stun guns for like 20 dollars.

Also, electrostatic propulsion is nothing new.

What the hell is this crap? This is a publicity stunt for this guys crappy invention - and dumbed down, seriously got nothing better to talk about, USA hung onto the BS all day.

"I yelled at him for going inside" You yelled at him while you thought he was at 11,000 ft? Because you didn't see him go inside and the only time you thought he was inside was when it was in the air.

For wasting resources which could have been used for real emergencies, you and your rent-a-bride should face criminal charges for wasting emergency services time and effort. I can spot a liar 8000 miles away, and YOU sir are a BAD LIAR.

I'm saying nothing more on the subject - only to express dismay that there are at least 2 threads ongoing about this, when clearly it's a HOAX/PUBLICITY STUNT.

I don't know why the media isn't telling us that this family was on wife swap recently. It's like they don't want to show you that little kid saying curse words when being told to be more safe in his own house.

They probably got the idea from the movie UP.

Did you see the little kid wiggle on his father's lap - does he look like the type who could sit in a dark box for two hours? Can you imagine any normal six year old sitting still for over 15 minutes?

Of course this was a hoax. What's the probability of a family being on a reality tv show and then, just coincidentally, having a major televised event? Add the kids comment and I think there's plenty of proof for criminal charges against the parents.

The parents put the emergency workers in danger. Lot's of people would risk their life if they thought they would be saving a kid.
Plus in the future the next "missing" kid is going to be given a second thought - which is a danger because next time it might not be a hoax.

Staged event in order to discredit sightings.

Hahahahaha the kid is awesome, just watch this video. It was a complete setup for publicity from the start, parents are so busted. "You guys said, we did this for the show." It's around 40 seconds into it.

As soon as I saw footage of the balloon it was obvious that it would not have lifted a cat let alone a boy.I can't believe that common sense did not prevail.Then again don't let the truth stand in the way of a good news story.

I said this in my initial post and reiterate that it was my initial gut feeling.

I still feel this was in some way diversion... perhaps other craft, perhaps another story entirely... what remains true is that the world does not stop when Falcon "flies"... there were likely dozens and dozens or likely hundreds of worthy news stories today that were stonewalled... can you imagine being someone with one of those stories?

Just a few perspectives... and another instinct of mine...the mother is a whack job who is incredibly self centered and incredibly well trained at appearing innocent. The father is ... eccentric ... and lying. This is ...beyond obvious.

The children seem strange... falcon seems ill mannered... however... most children of that age aren't much different. You can tell as someone has previously mentioned the smarter of the children are watching for how their parents thwart the expose...this is also clear.

AGAIN ... please with the website the father runs? I saw on cnn... it has pyramids on mars and such...

They did this for a stunt. This guy likes to be on camera. He has been on those wife swapping shows twice.

LOL i just read through some of this sad thread and i just can't believe how interested people were in this lame story.

Our governments run rough shot over us on a daily basis and tons of articles get posted here with crucial information proving the corruption we live under and they can barely get to a 3rd page of comments and here we have 27 pages over garbage.

Haha Guess Aussie news is a bit less wary - it was reported they were involved in that here, and the entire news item was edging towards them being less than honest as they would be facing the cost of the fiasco.

Mind you at first, all I heard was 'kid found' 'ufo balloon' 'storm chaser' type catch phrases, but a few hours later it was more or less revealing them as disingenuous about it all.

Don't be upset big guy, You've had plenty of moments in threads to your liking so don't feel you have to tell people theyre bad for being involved in threads that don't go on for tens of pages about your concerns..

is it just me, but at that 40 sec clip where the kids 'tells all' - the father says "...yeah." then there's a small fart sound just after it.
