No im serious, everyone putting their idea together, comming out and saying they have no trust in the government tells a lot about where we are and where we may be heading.

Hey letspreadtruth,

Remember me?

Have you been able to spread any information about the Federal Reserve?

Having fun with this thread that you started? Makes me smile to see you having some fun with it, as well as allowing your passion for change that we can believe in to move you forward towards making something, somewhere happen that helps all of us. Keep on going, young man. Never, ever give up.

And, as for my score of my trust of the fugg'n gov't? Eff'n! How about this: zero degrees Kelvin? That's the lowest, coldest and freez'n-assest number that you are gonna get from anybody.

Also a S&F for you and your passion for justice and I have picked you as one of my friends, so I'm the first ATS friend for you.

Almost all posters saying ZERO on a scale from 1-100 displays the agressive irrationality of the Government-haters around here.

I have to disagree with you, the number of posters on here saying zero stem from many things but they do not come from government haters and if it did wouldnt the American people have a good reason to hate the goverment ?? I think so.

Why do you think that, id love to hear more about your idea.

These threads don't sum up why I think the 3rd bank of the US will fail, but they are a good place to start. The current depression began 9/11/2008 when a huge amount of money was withdrawn from the market.

I'm not sure how to answer the OP's question since "trust" carries many meanings.

Do I trust them to tell the truth about all things all the time? Of course not. Do I trust them to tell me the truth sometimes about some things? I think so...not EVERYTHING is a lie.

Do I trust them to provide for me in old age? Not at all. Do I like the direction they seem to be headed in? Not at all. Do I think they have the "best interests" of the average American in mind? Of course not.

Also, "the government" is a big thing...involving everything from the congress to the military to officials in many agencies to local govt, etc. All of these sub-branches of the govt are made up of individuals. Some of these individuals are trustworthy and honest. Some are not. All are forced to consider their own needs as well as the needs of society, and these two things are not always in concord.

And so on.

Very interesting stuff I must admit. I like the fact your research is very well put together and you seem very passionate about what you believe in. Thankyou for opening my eyes even more, I am always willing to learn as much as I can.

I think you answered it for yourself.

What I was getting as is do you trust the government, to basically do whats best to uphold the rights we were born with, the same rights that our founding fathers thought were so important.

"Aggressive irrationality?"

Well, can you blame us?

I mean, look at the facts:

Politics has been completely co-opted by TPB.

TPB own the money that we are forced to use.

We have NO voice in the media anywhere.

We have NO justice in the damn courts.

"Government" is totally unresponsive to our needs and wants.

The super-rich don't give a damn -- they benefit from the fascistic largess.

Our votes are not counted, mis-counted and handled by private firms.

We have NO avenues for legit redress of our grievances.

We are taxed to death.

We are beat on by the cops viciously.

We face propaganda everywhere.

We are watched everywhere.

We are spied on everywhere.

We have been ripped off, blind economically, financially and spiritually.

They have outsourced our jobs, destroyed our industrial base, killed our towns.

They have lied to us over and over and OVER AND OVER.

We have been f***d over by GATT, NAFTA, WTO and so on.

Ad infinitum ... so how in the hell can anyone expect a SHRED of trust from us? How?

Nah, zero degrees Kelvin is my measure of "trust" that I have in the gov't.

F-em.

I completely agree, either people dont trust them one bit or there to busy scraping a living together to know or care. We both know we could sit here for hours and hours about how TPTB have screwed the American people over but at the end of the day like we've said before people need to be informed.

I trust my government to lie through their teeth always. I trust my government to spin a lie as the truth and when called on it they quote statistics as to why they are not lying and as 86.08 percent of statistics are made up on the spot I think it fair to say that they are lying.

0 for sure

OK, thanks for the clarification.

I'd have to answer this specific question with a big fat "no." In fact, I'd say we left the ideals of the founding fathers behind a long, long time ago. If I had to pick a date, I'd say 1913, when the Federal Reserve Act was railroaded through a nearly-empty Congress while most Congressmen were on Christmas vacation.

Still, the genius of the constitution is its flexibility and self-adaptibility. Perhaps We The People will rise to the occasion and surprise ourselves. But one thing I'd wager: If its going to come from that direction its something the people will have to do themselves. The gubbment sure ain't going to do it for us.

Hmmm... constantly lying to me and stealing from me with impunity yet they have the power to label me a liar and a thief and lock me away.

Regularly murdering Americans and imprisoning Americans who do not appreciate the lies and theft.

Is zero really as low as I can go on the 'trust meter?' More so than not trusting government I fully expect to be killed by it.

It's like some flesh-eating beast from hell that can reach down anytime it feels like it and devour any one of us. The most stressful thing in my life always has been and always will be government looking over my shoulder.

negative infinity.

i.e. not at all.

reason = they are not trustworthy.
they dont act in the interests of humans/animals/the planet/environment
they act from self interest. and profit and greed motives.
people ruling countries should be selfless not selfish.

also according to jim marrs in rule by secrecy, a lot of them are satanists, child abusers, nazis and linked to international bankers; crime syndicates (probably one and the same thing) and to secret societies. i dont like any sort of secrecy.

why the secrecy? if your motives are honourable theres no need for it. and i dont buy the 'its for your own good/protection' argument.. or hte 'god told me to' argument...

recent events wud seem to bear this up: bank bailouts and massive corruption; 9/11; no action on stopping global pollution and on clean power (so that they can support their mates in the oil/coal industries); the swine flu vaccine; denver airport; ufo coverups and secrecy; attacks on food by the FDA - i call it the poisoning of america (and elsewhere probably); the cancer industry and suppression of cancer cures and cures of other illnesses like diabetes/heart disease; suppression of correct diet and healthy food information; suppression of the dangers of dairy; etc; pharma drugs that actually cause illnesses dont cure them; (like my anti anxiety medication that listed anxiety as a side effect; )effects of IMF and world bank (globalisation) policies of exploiting countries and spreading consumerism/marketing and unhealthy food/ terribly cruel animal practices based on motives of commercial greed and profits; starvation in a world with enough resources to feed everyone; no action on population birth control measures; religion in general; constant wars for no apparant reason (see jim marrs: rule by secrecy) etc... one law for the very rich; other laws for the rest of us; ...etc...

I don't trust the government at all...nada..zip!!! Not Republicans...not Democrats...not independents...none of them.

That being said I am not so naive as to believe that a nation of 350 million can function without a government or even a severely shrunken one.

Race does not unite us....language does not unite us...religion does not unite us...ideology does not unite us...culture does not unite us...community does not unite us...economics doesn't not unite us...individualism certainly does not unite us...indeed self absorbed egotism drives us even further apart...

So...unlike many other nations there are no underlying unities of culture, language, religion or race to hold us together.

In this nation the only thing that holds us together is the American ideal and even that is not the bonding glue. Government is and without a strong government holding the various factions in check this nation would splinter quicker than Baghdad on a bad day.
