Although it makes for interesting debate I am still not yet convinced. Believe me, I want the truth as much as anyone else. I believe it is extremely important. However, simply because a foreign news site labels him as 'Kenyan Born' does not make him so.

We still need to have his long form BC shown to the public and unfortunately now, authenticated.

Exactly, I agree.

As many keep saying, what makes this so odd is his refusal to do so.

I don't see anything. I need a verifiable quote. Got a confirmation of this quote? A source where it was published?

I could make a webpage and quote Obama as saying anything, but that doesn't make it true.

I'd really like to see where this made publication because if this is true ... it totally changes my tune.

But, all we have right now is someone on some random site paraphrasing. Nothing solid.

Scoob,
Keep in mind that it can be, and most likely is, some overzealous reporter not doing his homework. The article is originally from Kenya.

Ziggy,
Am I too assume that, because the article is from Kenya, that the author is over zealously not doing homework? So does this mean anything coming from Kenyan reporters... is overzealous and ignorant?

I hope this is not true, because I would have to change my way of thinking...I have noticed many here at ATS, including myself, getting over excited and passionate about things and discussing them without doing research... and... seeing that Your post was generated on an American-owned conspiracy website.... See what I mean?

Why try to erase it unless you're operating in a 1984 "he who controls the past controls the future" mentality.

Very good point, and seeing that some of the links are turning up 404's... one would have to think one of two things:
1 Someone, but who, is trying to hide information...
or
2 Someone, but who, has removed their mistake...

Entire generations that participated in race riots, in lynchings and in needless persecution of black people
...

Might I add please; North American Indian people, Chinese American people, Japanese American people, Hispanic American people etc etc etc... the list could go on,

still exist in the the USA and until their time is passed and the new generations are not brought up with such poison hate in their minds it will not change and we will continue to see these petty and silly little rants about this moot flaw or that moot flaw which in turn distracts from REAL issues.

I'm sorry, I had to do that so I could 100% agree with your already fabulous comment, instead of 10%. Just didn't want this to seem like a racial thing... and only about people on black people.

Google the phrase “So what? I am running for Illinois Senator, not the presidency” and you'll see that there's exactly ONE source. And that is the one you posted.

Where did this "retort" come from?

It IS bizzare that it would say that but then again it is also coming from the media and you cant sort out when you'll believe them and when you dont. all of us on ATS think alike, at least most of us do, and lets be real ppl we dont necesarily think highly about the media and for good reason, so why believe this???

although i want to, just to further prove how corrupt our government is, but i just cant. im practicing what i preach by not following the mainstream media. and so should most of you.

Look again. I did not post it.
Now I realize I should not have called you out on it.

The poster did give a source link, but I could not find those words.

If, that was a direct statement, then that would be trouble. But it would need to be backed up by Keyes and the reporter or witnesses.

Do you have a link to this? Screen shot, maybe?

This AP Archive Link says there is no such article.

You're right. You shouldn't have called me out. Especially considering my first post in this thread. I'm keeping an open mind about this as I do every story, until I find something that sways me one way or the other.

You should be calling on x2Strongx to show some valid source. Like this:

Transcript of Keyes/Obama Debate

The disputed language is not found in the text of the debate.

Oh no don't get me wrong, the Associated Press has no such article, but I did research the website, I did find the article using the wayback machine. It is there. It's a Kenyan paper, I don't know if it's a real AP article but it is a Kenyan online paper.

I did find where the comments were off stage and on video.
The video was on youtube and many claim to have seen it. It is what drives Keyes in the law suits.
The vid was scrubbed from youtube, and there are many vids and such looking for the original vid that was from a personal camcorder.

I searched - Keyes Obama debate natural - that was on Yahoo.

Take that stupid bold yellow banner down...this is either a fraud or the reporter didn't do his homework...

its proof that the blithers will grasp at any straws to delegitimize the Obama presidency and nothing more.

Sorry, I didn't mean to be frustrated at you.
I do get impatient with off-topic posts, though. I apologize.

So the article is in the African online paper "The Standard", but cannot be linked to the Associated Press.

Mind leaving a link so we can all see it?

With this, I agree. That totally looks like ATS is using this story for traffic or something. It's a flagged story. I don't know why the gaudy banner is needed.

Gotta go swimming! Later!

That is correct, it is in the African Standard for that date, however, it is not on the Associated Press website as far as I can find. I have found no other website to date that has that specific article, the only one I find is the African Standard. Apparently it was a real article submitted by an AP reporter (as of yet I don't know what reporter) But a real article.

I've received word from the original source that one of his contacts still in the media has located corroborating versions of the AP story on micro-fiche archives of US-based sources (trying to ascertain exactly where)... but that the specific story is unavailable from AP subscribers.

More info as I have it... and hopefully a copy or two of the other sources.

Stay tuned.

Why, Grover. It almost looks like you are advocating censorship simply because you don't agree with what others are saying. If so, wouldn't that be against the foundations of our country and also quite elitist?

its proof that the blithers will grasp at any straws to delegitimize the Obama presidency and nothing more.

It's only proof to you and any others that seemed to be terrified (for some reason???) of this issue. And is your use of the term "blithers" meant as an insulting play on words from the term "birthers" - which is itself an insulting label? Don't you know that using insulting political labels is now against the T&C?

Actually, we don't know if it's a real AP article without a byline, without any major news source, or without a AP archive copy.

Yes, it may be a real African Standard article, but it may not be a real AP article.

That yellow bold "shocker" headline is ridiculous. Perhaps, they can add the little Drudge Report sirens to the headline too.

So, we're not sure if this is an AP article...

Also, I thought the Sunday Standard was a paper in Botswana?
