New Earthquake Swarm at Yellowstone- October 14, 2009

In my opinion they are occurring in two places: near the west thumb of Yellowstone lake (just south of YLT station) and on the caldera rim near YPP station (as indicated by the four earthquakes added for yesterday by UUSS).

hey trueamerican, the 30 swarm, how big is it now ? i just wanna check your answer against what i'm seeing here.

Are you 100% sure about that? I'm not.
And if you are, how do you know in the first place anyway?
Besides I think aliens could do it for themselves if they wanted!
Probably they are for the elite to hide in when YS blows!

Makes at least as much sense as falling logs.
Ever wonder where those trillions go?

Before watching this particular UFO Hunters episode I had never seen or heard of devices using thermo nuclear power to dig tunnels underneath the United States.

And yes...TBM's (Tunnel Boring Machine's) can be absolutely enormous as you can see from those very high quality pictures.

You don't think those things will show up on the seismographs as its teaing through subterranean rock bed?

Nope, they sure dont! Good point!

Did ya see the one with an air force label on it too?
Or the one that is nuclear powered that leaves a fused glass wall behind it?
That way there is no tailings! Plus, it can dig 7 miles a day!

Thats alot of miles of tunnels since it started in the 70's!
At least thats when the patents came out for the machine!

It never stopped, and continues as we speak. By stopped, I mean at least a decent break, like for 10 minutes or so. But it has continued with activity non stop pretty much, so I quit counting. We're up into at least the 90's or 100 events by now.

that's what i thought too.
i was like........this just keeps going and going. wish i could read these things better. even after reading information on them, i still have a bit of a problem deciphering the data.

Did you mean Lone Pine, station CI.CWC ? Answer there= at the moment, nothing, although there is a little wind saturation going on.

And nothing at CI.MLAC either, if that's what you meant. Next time, please specify station- that's a little easier to deal with.

Sounds like my back yard is coming alive again...
I followed all 400 plus post on the last thread, only posted a few times, you guys did some great work in there, no need for me to fill up space.
But just wanted to check in and say keep up the good work, i'll be following every page of this one as well.
I was wondering how long before it started acting up, with all the activity on the pacific rim on the other side, i knew it was a matter of time before this side of the plate started to do somthing..

Just when I have forgotten about the ticking time below Yellowstone...

That thing scares me more than any other potential catastrophy.

I remember being there when I was very young... standing on the edge of Yellowstone Lake. (tilting as the earth buldges beneath. Ominous place.

There seems to be tons of small quakes ghappening around California too and the West Coast from what i can see on the USG!

Maybe these around Yellowstone are a little wake up call that something big could happen there soon....
