One could give plenty of reasons not to like someone.
Give one good reason why we should like him, and then maybe we can understand why we don't.
No matter what, anyone in the office is going to be liked "and" despised.
Bad decisions, are the reason anyone might not be liked.
Assuming the futures of the as yet unborn generations as being tangible assets, is in my book, ridiculous, and shiesty.
If anyone were to be able to confront the issues, and handle them better, would they step up?

Im not looking for an answer, Im trying to see what people think of him. Most people my age just like Obama because he is made out to be some sort of hero who can do no wrong. I myself do not believe this to be true.

Im not 100 % sure where your going with that but I do think hes probably a puppet, even if someone was capable of handling the issues they probably wouldnt be elected.

sure, look at ron paul, but the problem is that people who will not be puppets get shredded in the political light.

that sthe way it goes for now

Obama's a politician. To me that's hard to like, regardless of whom we're talking about. But for all I know Obama could be a wonderful man. In fact I will admit that I'm impressed by his family and the way they seem very strong as a unit. So...Obama the man: Seems like a good fellow. Obama the public servant: Not so good.

My answer: What has he done or what policies are being promoted that YOU think are good? I had a few hopes that there would be some "POSITIVE" changes that he promised in the campaign but it appears it is not happening.

I had some hopes on "Transparency" by posting bills online which he promised during the campaign... now the Dems are fighting that tooth and nail.

I had some hopes on "Revoking the Patriot Act" but he extended it.

I had some hopes on "going through the federal budget line by line" as promised in the campaign but that didn't happen.

I had hopes that "special interest" and "lobbyist" would NOT be part of the Obama administration as promised.... BIG Disappointment

I had some hopes on Immigration reform and border security - not happening.

What I see happening that I can't support: Promoting the "cap & trade" scam to make paper traders rich at our expense.

Continued bailouts, more corruption, payback to Unions and left wing groups.

Healthcare debates on Cspan - yeah that was a campaign promise, that isn't happening... now it is rush a bill through.

More U.N. treaty support - at our expense.

In my opinion, nothing "good" has been done or is coming down the "foreseeable" pipe, just more taxes (carbon taxes, healthcare taxes, sin taxes, etc).... I can't name one damned thing that I see as positive. Maybe healthcare reform but doubtful.. special interests are all over it.

Are you saying you want the opinions of others to help make up your mind of whether or not you 'like' Obama? Do you mean personally or his policies? You should try thinking for yourself, it does wonders. I think he is an ok guy, but I don't particularly care for any politicians, they are a lying den of jackals.

Once again he may be a cool dude, but I think he is a perfect figurehead and nothing more, a lackey for TPTB.

It really comes down to your personal view of his policies and his voting record.

If your looking for opinions your going to get plenty of it here. I agree with most of Obamas policies, including his two-year withdrawal fase from Iraq, his policy on stem cells and his healthcare reform policy that he is trying to get through. I dont agree with him on his standing regarding FISA or the patriot act, he needs to dismantle that. And while he has on numerous occasions stated his stance over dismantling dont ask dont tell, he has been slack. Also his stance on Iran... his "reaction" isnt doing anybody any good.... we shouldnt bother with that country, we are not the police of the world, and considering Israel is hiding 200 WMD's of their own... I mean really now?

Its been roughly 9 months since Obama assumed Office. Its still early days, and while some of his promises have been broken, alot of them have been kept and alot of them are yet to be fulfilled. I advise though you look to what issues you feel are important and judge your opinions from there over Obama.

One thing that is absolutely true about Obama. He is a leftist. We used to be taught that socialism was a bad thing. But the younger generation has been practically brainwashed into thinking that there is an unlimited supply of money to take care of every ill facing society.

The sad truth is that it doesn't work that way. Money doesn't come from some magical place to pay for every social project (eg universal healthcare)...it comes out of OUR pockets. I believe if people actually, physically saw the money taken out of their checks every month (if someone came to their house and plopped all the cash on the table) they would scream at our government to stop the madness!

Obama is a joke. He is a liar and a fraud. His whole history has been hanging out with leftists and terrorists like William Ayers. He is friends with a racist...Rev. Wright....

He's lied about his past in his books and he lied to everyone during the campaign.

He's just another politician...they seem to be a strange breed of pathological power-hungry liars that will say anything to get a seat at the table....we need to flush out Washington and find some people with ethics!

I agree completely with this. You need to do research (outside of a conspiracy board) and see where he stands on policies to see if you agree with him politically.

Obama on the Issues

Obama Promise Scorecard

As to whether you like him personally, that's completely up to you. No one's opinion of the man should influence whether or not YOU like him.

I happen to agree with many of his policies and disagree with some. And I like him personally even more. I think that even though he is a politician, he's fairly honest and trustworthy and a great positive change from George Bush. That's what I voted for. I think he's doing a pretty great job considering the direction this country was headed when he took the position. I don't yet know if he's going to be a Great President, because I think it's too early to say, but as far as I'm concerned, he's doing pretty good.

Of course, you're going to hear opinions that run the gamut, mostly negative here on ATS, but you really need to form your own opinion.

That is my point exactly.
Even if, it would never, ever be allowed.
Far.... too many agendas being played out.
How do those Agendas effect us as a species?

I believe it removes us from the fact that we are all human.

The BIG "O" is just another agenda being played out, regardless of the impact on the species.
