I have to admit it was an entertaining episode and Josh Gates could do stand up if this doesn't work out.
Here are some explanations. What do you think?
Lets remember the guy they interviewed that needed interpretation. He built some sort of stargate in the desert near the mines. Hmmmm, do they expect more tourists in the area? Are the local proactively attracting attention to the area?
Obviously the team attracted some attention in the area while they were there. Is it out of the question to believe some locals pranked them with lights in the desert and a dead chicken in a hole? Did the locals plant ideas in the teams heads prior to the investigation?
It seems too convenient to fall into a whole in a subteranian cave at 3AM and then stick your hand into it and pull out a mummified alien !! C'mon!!
I think Josh was duped !!!

is this real?
just wondering because people have been saying we'll get disclosure soon, who know what form it would be in...
awesome vid
I didn't see a dish. I don't know if it WASN'T plugged in. I don't know where the sound was coming from. I'm not calling them liars but maybe they were mistaken. Their emotions were running on overdrive, no?
its fine to be skeptical, but when your skepticism leads you to disbelieving experts without any indication as to why they would lie, then i think you're taking it too far.
1. Why are you changing your name?
Although we love the name Sci Fi, because it's a generic term, we can never own it. As the way people watch TV changes, that's becoming a growing issue for us. When we started out 16 years ago, we had one cable network in the US and everyone watched TV live. By the end of 2009, we'll be in 50 countries, our content will be distributed across dozens of new platforms - from Hulu and iTunes to mobile phones and game consoles - and a growing number of viewers no longer watch live.
Deep inside of a volcanic mountain in Chile is a mine where Indians have toiled since the Spanish Conquest. In the deepest galleries remain strange sculptures of miniature cities and shrines where small, mummified beings sit around a table. Discovered only last year, these beings, less than a foot tall, are considered by locals to be from another world. The Araucanian Indians who live in the area also consider the mine haunted and report witnessing the small creatures wandering around in the darkness. The Indians have turned the mine into a shrine and worship the mysterious creatures within. Two similar mummies have been removed from a ghost town near the mine and sent to Santiago for analysis. Preliminary findings suggest that the skeletons are anomalous and may not be human.
