I have read on the Nobel peace prize site that the award isn't given for accomplishments. It's given for vision, courage and determination, which are not accomplishments, but attributes. Obama has these attributes, regardless what he has accomplished.

The vast majority of people who are upset that he earned this award don't even know what the award is about!

Are you out of your mind?!

Obama is someone of dubious nationality, dubious academic performance, dubious intelligence community status, dubious sexuality who is clearly narcissistic and clearly has his strings pulled by elitists. He is a pathological liar that has almost a 100% track record of breaking his campaign promises. Not that they were promises, they were just platitudes, but even with such a vague platform such as change he managed to mess it up by basically being Bush 3.0.

Obama has atributes, sure. None of them would qualify him for a peace prize. At most a Hollywood Oscar.

This award has had dubious and politically motivated nominations and awards in the past, as well as serving as a memetic enhancement to validate dubious science. It dosen't surprise me in substance that the world elite would pull something like this off.

I do however think they went too far, to give Obama, at his lowest approval point, such a scandalously inapropriate accolade... well, it shows who's behind the curtain quite nicely and I guess I'm happy it happened.

If you, Benevolent Heretic, want to like Obama, fine, but don't bother to debate me on this, he's way past debating for him and has shown his true colours (no racial pun intended before people grab the "racist" card to protect their "saviour"). Most people just want him thrown onto the scrap pile of history and move on... Nobel or no Nobel.

He'll go. And the media will follow him with adoration and love -yark-

This is an embarrasment to all americans. Worse than the Al Gore debacle.

We see two wars, unemployment, the demise of our currency, a sell-out to China, a snub to Tibet and the Dalia Lama, the Apology Tour 2009, higher taxes, government control of EVERYTHING

and he gets this prize.

It's a sad world we live in.

What shocks me about this Nobel Peace Prize is that it basically came out of nowhere. Even media experts are agreeing that this came far too early. One has to wonder if this is meant to be a cover for the failed moon test earlier today.

If the Illuminati is real - It is a threat against Obama. It is also a tactic used to discredit him and whoever he is working with. He is working against their goals, and they are teaching him a lesson on why he should never cross them.

If no Illuminati - It is an award.

If they are real, I would imagine they groomed Obama from college and he would be working for them. They would be in high places and positions of power, similar to his mentors: Zbigneiw Brzezinski, "Reverend" Dr. Jeremiah Wright, or perhaps his pal Henry Kissinger, who called for Obama to create a New World Order.

Not sure what a half dozen swedes voting for him has to do with NASA but what if you are right that it is a front. Give him a peace prize two weeks before we invade Iran? Give it to him hoping that he won't invade Iran? Or something of the sort? Mebbeh?

The proves it...

He is satan

I think they should have given the prize to the voting populace. I actually want to blame Bush on this one as well, if Jr. was not so nutty and deficient Obama would not look so great to the world. IMO

After doing a bit of research on the internet, all I can say is follow the money. Even though he has been given the award, we all will need to see where the prize money goes, as he is not allowed to keep or use any of it. It has to be given out to different organizations as that is the precident that has been set by the 2 other sitting Presidents who have recieved the award. If he keeps the money, then he is in violation of the Constitution. Some thing in the back of my mind tells me that he will gift the money to either someplace in Chicago, or it will go out of the public eye and disappear, even though it should not. I for one do not believe he deserves it at this point in time. Should he continue on this path, then it will be an embarassment for the international community and the country.

I am not sure he deserved the Peace prize. I hope he lives up to it. I certainly hope he is not cut short for his anti Zionist stance or his challenge of big Pharma.

i dont own a tv but i read all sort of news and stuff that apears on net.
in my honest opinion this man didnt deserve anything.

1 year ago i was behind him becose i could not reach deeper of how US elections look like (im from poland)

and now after 1 year i must say i would choose Ron Paul if i were living in US just becose you had info there. i dont blame any one we were all conned.

Peace nobel prize should go to people like Ron not Barack.

For supporters of Obama please go back top youtube and listen to his promises .... now list a few that he really ment...

Can someone tell me..
The Nobel Peace Prize is givin for vision, courage and determination.
The Nobel Peace Prize nominations had to be in by the deadline of
Febuary 1st 2009...
So they either based Obama's vision, courage, and determination on his whole 2 weeks of being President, or they based it on his Campain PROMISES, or they based it on his time in the Senate where he had passed on voting 167 times...
What a wonderful example for our children....

I would bet All the Tea in China that his Nobel Prize money is going to go to the community organization " ACORN".

Just watch and wait.

Perhaps the GOP should invite Hamas and the Taliban over for a beer or two and they can console each other over Obama's win.

Does anyone on the right have any idea what a bunch of spoiled sports they are?

First you gloat at Obama's failure to bring the Olympics to Chicago and now you whine and complain about his winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

While I agree that it is unwarranted your whiny pouting behavior is nothing short of unseemly.

And it does nothing to help your electability...

I mean who wants to vote for a pack of obstructionist whining crybabies...

Is the right so devoid of ideas that this is what you are reduced to?

But...?

He hasn't pulled us out of Iraq. He hasn't pulled us out of Afghanistan. He hasn't shut down Guantanamo. The economy keeps getting worse, and the American people are as restless as ever.

How did he win this when he hasn't done anything yet? He's no MLK. He's no Ghandi.

Oh wait, Henry Kissinger won it. And he's a genocidal war criminal. Goes to show what kind of people win the "peace" prize.

He most likely got nominated for his work with ACORN during his Chicagoland days as a community organizer. That trumps the work of Mother Teresa right?

Oh what a day in politics. Just when I think Obama can't possibly have anything more up his sleeves.

BTW. Love the avatar. I always thought Obama looked familar. I've been eating breakfast with the guy since I was a kid.

Lots of people taking this too seriously. Remember this is the same prize awarded to Carter, Gore and Yasser Arrafat. They might as well just rename it "the progressive du jour" prize.

Not trying to knock Obama. Maybe he will do something deserving in the future but at present his greatest accomplishment seems to be getting elected.

So, in the 11 days he was in office, he deserved it.

Um, what did he do? Change the drapes in the Oval Office?

Really. In 11 days, he saved a world? Defeated Hitler? Fought off an alien invasion?

C'mon, give me something here. what in the hell did he do?

Hope and Change? He gets the medal for a slogan?

Sooo....anyone who doesn't think Obama deserves the Nobel Peace Prize is "the right"? Because that's how your comment reads...
