I would like someone such as yourself that thinks he deserved this award to explain to me his vision, courage and determination. And how those make
him worthy above others for this award. Thanks.
He has the vision to see a future where America takes care of itself and is at peace with the world. His vision includes quality health care for all,
energy independence, and cooperation with our allies as well as our "enemies" around the world. He has the vision of different religions (and the
non-religious) of the world existing harmoniously.
He has the vision to see the USA as
A component of the world rather than
THE component of the world.
He has the courage to actually talk with other countries as opposed to making rash, illogical decisions and judgments when dealing with those with
whom we disagree. He has the courage to have an open mind, and be patient and understanding of others' points of view, even when he disagrees. He has
the courage to reach out to Muslims after they have been made the "enemy" by the last administration.
And while he's willing to talk with our enemies, he has the determination to kick ass if necessary. He has the determination to work HARD to get REAL
bipartisan cooperation in the face of the total obstructionism of the Republican party in Congress. He has the determination to be the Un-Bush.
That gives you an idea of what I think. I disagree with Obama on many things, but my disagreement with him doesn't mean that he doesn't deserve this
award.
I'm sure there are many people in addition to Obama who deserve it, but the committee made a decision and they made it for their reasons, not mine.
So I can't really say why he deserved it above the others. But I can definitely see why they made this decision.
