I was thinking about this the other day

If god is all powerful (which I believe it is) then why does it let the devil exist?

I am new to this site so if there is already a thread like this oh well

so we can have free will....without him..it would be heaven on earth pretty much...at least thats how i see it

since its what many religions thinks so.

edit: and why wouldn't a all loving god want heaven on earth?

I can see this thread exploding in the near future. let me sleep on this one, but briefly the devil chose a path, and that path was to disregard the way of God. Somewhere along the way we got corrupt as well, as you can see.

satan was called "Lucifer" in Heaven. Yes, he was in Heaven with God. Lucifer was created by God. He was an angel. A special angel at that. He was a "Covering Cherub." He stood in the presence of the Almighty God. He was made beautiful by God; but pride made him fall.

"God" let "the devil" run hell for other sinners to get tortured there.

so god allows us to get tortured but the being who is supposedly responsible for everything negative in the universe doesn't?

It is god that is evil. Evilness is merely our perception of certain type of action that doesn't benefit us. God wouldn't be almighty, if it couldn't be evil, simple as that. There existed a thread for this conversation, you are welcome to read it here.

my thoughts about "God" was quiet there but wasnt refined.

God allow things to work the way they are so we may have freewill. We live in this world because of our original sin, I.E whem Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge. Satan will go to the lake of fire along with every human who does not receive the Lords salvation according to Acts 2:38 in the bible. Satan is basically the accuser and tempter of men and does everything for us to fall from the Lord's grace. Since he knows he will never be in heaven he is working on taking us to the lake of fire with him. Evil must exist for us to have the choice between right and wrong, as well as the choice to accept or reject our Lord and savior. without it we would be forced to believe since there would be undeniable proof even if we did not want to accept it.

yeah i know you can say im spiritual

i don't believe in religion because it has too many contradictions

this thread was made to have a discussion with those who believe in the devil and hell even though i heard you can't debate a christian or any religious follower because they do not think rational or use logic

You really ought to read as many threads/posts as possible before you start asking questions. I'd start in the Religion threads, then move into the Spirituality/Metaphysics stuff. This should give you some insight into the "whole story"

All you are gonna get in this thread is a bunch of people making fun and or arguing with each other.

God doesn't allow us to get tortured as you know it, it's man who allows themselves to be tortured. The torture for the souls in hell is hatred.

Grace is a gift. it;s love put in the soul.

Souls in hell if allowed to every day lets say for 1 trillion years time to repent and want God, they would still rebel. It's a state of hatred.


they have chosen what they wanted on earth, and that's hatred and rebellion and selfishness that hurts others.

and so their torture is self induced not only mentally but spiritually too.

it's an everlasting rebellion.

and so as you say, you presume God is all powerful right?

You op YOU wouldn't torture anybody woud you? So if that source made something better than himself and put that love in you, than isn't it kind of illogical to presume that you can have that justice and not the one who made justice?

what souls do is get puffed up, they rebel, they don't understand so they lash out against God, without a hint of thought of how they got their own love in the first place.

Pirde pies upon pride, the soul gets more judgemental, loses it's childlike lastmindedness and becomes it's own God.

peace and always remember to trust in God. He will show you why he does what he does and why any soul in hell is there.

the day of justice is not just a slogan, it's a day where everything in mans heart will be revealed, all the evils, all the NOs to God a soul says during the day..


and to answer to OP, The devil is here because of free will, doesn't mean satan can force any man to do anything. all the human does is do what satan did and chose to rebel.

a million satans can exist, and the fact is that they have no influence on us unless we chose to let them.
