What If Currency was never Invented, or used.

Specially in these times we have all thought about it, what would happen if we never thought of the concept of making one person pay for something another person had. And instead gave them that item or service on the basis they would be taken care of when they needed something.

Yes Bartering would be bountiful, But why isn't it? Why have we moved from such a Simplistic means of trading, to a means of trading for something that has no real purpose other then to pay for items and services.

Would bartering lead to other unforeseen issues? And if so would they be Worse than what money has done.

To Clarify, what I think money has done, is devalued our interpersonal dynamics, We now focus on how we can make more money, so we go an work jobs alot of us do not like, which leads to poor production or just a lack of consistent employees. Not to mention others work in slave labor type conditions just so more products can be made to be sold. We use money in every aspect of our lives now, and it has caused a great divide in our World. Many Suffer all over the world, not for lack of the ability to grow food or trees for housing, But the lack of money it takes to prepare their land for growing, and maintaining. And, it always seems the less effort you put into something the more you get paid.

We have issues in this world, that A world who can fly to the moon, explore the depts of the sea, design nano structures, Cannot provide for their fellow human beings who feel, bleed, get hungry and die just like the rest of us. And why? lack of them having Money.

Since when should lack of money be a death sentence? When you were born, were you holding a money clip full of hundreds? or even a Line of Credit? So why is it that from the moment a life enters this world, Money is the main thing they will have to worry about?

It feels we have lost our focus and touch with mankind and nature, how many Ants do you see handing over dollars to get back into their hole? How many plants charge us to take their fruit, How much does it cost to breath air?

Its just kinda insane to see so much problems stemming from such a Odd invention.

Im not saying bartering is the best, but it is quite possible bartering would of prevented mass corporations from having such a huge footprint in our economic world, Do these Corps. care about how you feel about their service, not really, they will put out an appearance they care, but they mainly want your cash.

I believe Money was introduced and kept into being for the main purpose of control, its a way to have a King and queen that aren't actually royalty, but Corporations.

This may not be written the best, and may sound much like rambling, But Its more or less an thought I find myself thinking about alot, And I would love to hear how you feel, and if you have any ideas on a better means of product/service exchange voice it.

But if you going to come in here and nitpick and not contribute to the subject matter, Please direct your issue with the closest wall.

I am not even going to presue currency for much longer. The monetary system makes sure we are all slaves and the that the rich maintain their lifestyles. Break free from slavery people. Grow your own food. Build your own shelter. Maybe one of those earth bag homes or somthing. Or you can continue to be a slave and help support a system that causes so much pain around the world. Your Choice.

While i don't like the current monetary system and the ills that come from it.I do like our current level of technological advancement and all the goodies that come with it.Im not one for ditching all that so i can live like folks did in the 18th century.I think in the coming decades robots will take over a very large majority of the workload and people will have the freedom to live a more fulfilling life than we are used to right now.I don't think technology is a big bad monster and returning to what you described is a step backwards and completely unnecessary imo,unless you wish to of your own accord.

well the thing is,

if everyone was able to acquire what they needed through doing things for others, Im pretty sure our technology would of advanced further than it has already.

Without Profits, Science and tech would be done for the Pure purpose of advancement.

And instead of people seeing how they can make the next big money maker, they would just be working on the next big thing.

All Speculation of course, But without money Greed might be replaced with Pride?

If everyone would have just done unto others as we would have done unto ourselves, money wouldn't be our King. We made it our King and strive to serve him now as he cackles demonically and demands more time, resources and lives.

If we lived as one people populating one planet with resources going to everywhere it was needed, we'd be in a much better situation than we are now. Money is defiantly one of those thing's that has caused many problems since it's conception, but so has sovereignty and division of classes. What we need is a system of respect, equality and unity, without that we're just doomed to keep repeating the same petty wars over land, finances and resources that we've been doing for thousands of years now.

The problem is there isn't a option, you need money or you will not be able to sustain your life for much longer.

I mean this could even be started in communities without any government backing, it is kinda in effect with Co-ops, but if utilized correctly by all of us, we could flip the Economic " owner and owned " situation we have now.

A national Barter day. even would raise some eyebrows

I disagree, before we had complex societies or bartering methods we did sustain a decent living situation. We didn't have to pay for resources except through the time and effort we put into gathering the resources we required. If it was possible way back then, then I see no real reason why it couldn't be possible now.

If we worked towards a common goal of sustaining human life and developed more sustainable environmentally friendly technologies then we could make it work. Instead of cutting down forests, we could be using bamboo. Instead of emptying every freshwater source, we could be extracting drinking water from the air. Stuff like that would be great.

With a more resource based economy and a planet consisting of one peoples rather than different nationalities, we would have more peace and prosperity. We have the means to accomplish it, we just lack the drive probably because greed is a bigger motivator. More money = more power, with a world of equality and unity towards a common goal, people would lose the greed driven power.

I feel this needs more attention, As So many people and Ideas as well as PROGRESS is suffering because we think people need to be motivated by Greed, I mean money.

Im sorry but if in our past there was people who didnt want to invent anything more innovative because they were happy with their wool robes and strawbeds, So money was introduced to help nudge them, then im 100% sure they weren't the people for the job in the 1st place.

ALL ove this planet, we find people with interests more vast than our Oceans. If these awesome people of the world would just be able to practice their passion, ( Obviously a non-violent passion ) instead of being forced to work for money to live, that just sounds bad to me, " Work ... for Money? to live? Shouldn't I be working to live? who threw that middle item in? We would most likely have More innovation happening than we do debt thats for sure.

money just seems so pointless, when the majority of the people are in debt because of it. What purpose is it serving now, other than to constantly force you to not be able to do anything. except make someone else richer while you just make enough. Yes we have degrees, but have you tried to use your degree lately to obtain employment? Can't just use that, You need experience of course, And a friend or two in the know would help as well. But now we have ventured way past a concept used to help nudge change. We have entered a World dominated by greed.

I could care less about the ats point system, I believe in conversation, so how about we try some of that here.

Am I and these few but awesome repliers the only ones here who feel currency/ money has lost its true purpose and created a problem, or think its fine?

and we would share according to who can take from whom through violence.
money invention allowed for portible wealth. your wealth ported to
the person who invented it out of thin air.

But im asking, why do we need wealth? what purpose is wealth? aren't we advanced enough to understand innovation and forward thinking is how we achieve a brighter future?

meaning, we don't need to place a value on things, just a purpose? It seems we are keeping ourselves from ever advancing our advancements because we have to hurtle the Value concept.

So many people are in debt, but really their true issue, its an Imaginary issue we as mankind created.

Or are we just not that evolved to handle such a concept. "A world without currency", a truely " free" world.
