Looks like we in Ireland have voted yes to the Lison treaty at the second time of asking. current estimates put the yes vote at 60%
It is a disgrace than we can be asked to re-vote in this manner, and even more dissapointing that normal people were fooled into thinking that a YES
vote would fix the economy.
All the polititians and business men in favour of the treaty are only looking after there own pocket!!! The middle class will see no benefit.
This vote lets our government hand over control of too many issues to Europe down the line, without further referendums. This effectively lays the
foundation for a future European federal state.
It's a shame that after many years of fighting for our freedom, we just sign it away peacefully. Politics used to be fought with war - because there
was money in it, and there still is - but the real aims are achieved through negotiations and treaties.
The PTB said that if Ireland voted no we would lose out in Europe. Lose jobs etc. Who wants to be part of something where when you don't comply with
the big countries wishes (England, France, Germany) you suffer. That should ring enough alarm bells. This day will be a big day to look back on for
our future generations.....
The Chech government have not signed the treaty yet - so heres hoping they throw a spanner in the works and stop the whole thing..
