7.9 quake in Sumatra

Sept. 30 (Bloomberg) -- A 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck
Indonesia’s Sumatra island, the country’s meteorological agency
said in a mobile phone text message. No tsunami alert was
issued, the agency said.

Yup, been a serious earthquake. Hope it is going to be not as bad as previous one.

they've been having 5.0 quakes since yesterday's samoa 8.0.
poor people. times like this you wish you could just disconnect the whole land mass and float it above the water -- let the tsunami pass on by.

okay that was odd, there were two 4. 7 notices for nevada and then they just disappeared off the earthquake map

Do you make money, as a trader? Something like 1% of traders in asia actually make money. I suspect the quotient of successful traders in America is about the same -- 1%.

Not trying to bash you or anything, I'm just curious if you're able to make it work or not.

i get a salary and a bonus... i only trade customer flow these days, haven't had a book for two years... moved to a small house run by some ex-colleagues... it's a great business model but i'm giving it up soon and moving to france to become a gardener... 14 years has been enough

but i've made about 5 grand on the side being long silver and gold vs short the USD... which is on spreads and tax free so it pays for a holiday or two

Well it seems to be getting a bit nasty over there although there is usually a lot of earthquakes in that aria they do seem to be getting bigger.
Just hope it settles down over there hope the people stay safe.

Any one think this could be HAARP or something set up?

It will take an unlucky earthquake to do what it did in 2004, there have been lots of warnings in that area and only this one has had ay effect since 2004, but it does seem that maybe there i an increase.

Something's not right here there has already been 27 quakes today over 4 mag and we are only half way through the day where i am that is very unusual it is really cranking up.
