CNN tells the steel is brought back for "structural investigation".
edition.cnn.com...
What or who triggered these new investigations ?
Wasn't the steel supposed to have been re-used since long ?
Sorry if CNN streams changed subject meanwhile; check those other links.

That was my thought too... If I remember the OS correctly all the steel was transported out in record time for recycling by Chinese Steel corporations.

I too was under the impression that no steel was left...save the pieces that make up the memorials...

Upon a further thought..... Can it be proven that it is the same steel that fell in the towers.... Or could it be planted evidence....?

AND WHY DID IT TAKE OVER 8 YEARS TO GET THIS DONE!!!!!!!

Wasn't some of it used for a navy ship?

Found an article:

USS New York

The New York, an amphibious assault ship built for the Navy and incorporating steel recovered from the collapsed World Trade Center, will be christened this weekend at the New Orleans-area shipyard where it endured Hurricane Katrina.

The $1 billion, 25,000-ton vessel is 684 feet long and 105 feet wide. It can carry a crew of 360 sailors and 700 Marines who can be delivered to shore by helicopters and landing craft.

Another hole in the OS if this is true.

Good find. Though i have a few thoughts.

How can we be sure that it is steel from WTC? Surely we cannot take the media's word for it?
Why would they transport it so publicly? No covering of the beams? Exposed to the elements?
If this is actual steel from the WTC buildings, How do we know it isnt pre-selected to make sure that they didn’t pick parts that had obviously been tampered with in the actual event of 9/11? (I am referring to the pictures that show steel beams with vertical cuts 'smelted' through them.)

Gonna be keeping an eye on this

The National Geographic special showed warehouse that had steel left over, supposedly, from the WTC towers. Don't know if that was bunk but it was there. I don't remember where it was stored at but when I get back from running errands I can pull it up and see what they said.

They may have gotten that part of their "investigation" right. I know most of what I saw was bunk - I turned it off about halfway through because it was mostly a load of BS - but that part may be correct. From what I recall it was a warehouse in NYC but don't quote me on that.

Two things.
1. The government stored some of the steel away in a warehouse somewhere.
2. I bet they dont find anything but the steel failed from the damage of the impacts and fires started when the planes hit them.

Nope , not all the steel was recycled. There are tons of steel and artifacts being stored in a aircraft hanger at JFK. As for can it be proven to be from the WTC? I would imagine steel is made in batches and each run has unique properties that can be analyzed.

Well, if this IS the steel from the WTC, you can bet your grandma that they will have removed any traces of anything that could point to a controlled explosion (thermite, for example).
Can anyone say 'cover story'?
Sounds very fishy to me.

and they said:

NIST and its contractors and collaborators recommended "action in the areas of increased structural integrity, enhanced fire endurance of structures, new methods for fire resistant design of structures, enhanced active fire protection, improved building evacuation, improved emergency response, improved procedures and practices, and education and training."

they studied the steel, not to see if the collapse was caused by bombs, holograms, pixie dust or nukes but to see what should be done going forward. the study was to provide insight into ways to construct towers that can withstand the impact of airplanes and heat.

I don't believe any of this. All the steel was melted down in record time and you can bet there is NONE left whatsoever.

And let me make a prediction here...all of this "steel" that they're bringing in truckloads will show NOTHING. No foul play of course.

What a waste of taxpayers money.

The steel is not being taken to New York for investigation. It is being returned to New York following a three year investigation by NIST.

For the past three years, the steel had been at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, where the events of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks were reconstructed. The steel is being taken back to New York City.

Was that the headline CNN carried ?

Because all the other links allude to the investigation taking place at the National Institute of Standards and Technology over the last three years.

A spokesperson for the National Institute of Standards and Technology tells WTOP the steel beams have been at NIST Headquarters in Gaithersburg since 2002 as part of their investigation into the buildings' collapse.

why are they are going back to New York ..........

The steel is being taken back to New York, where it will be kept at JFK International Airport with the rest of the building remains.

Any chance you could find the CNN video again ?

what they should be studying is the affects that brought down three buildings with such precision. Imagine how much the controlled demo guys could save if all they had to do is smack a building with a fuel tank to bring it down. Heck, they could even duplicate the WTC7 affects and bring skyscrapers down with a few office fires and some rocks being thrown at them. silly people.

Well at the time of my post, it was presented as such by CNN Live ...
You know that it is sooo easy for MSM to present a different reason when it was politically incorrect at first. But the issue remains valid.

I actually saw the convoy traveling in the opposite direction of me on the beltway today. There must have been 50 cruisers escorting them. I couldnt help but wonder why they wouldnt just simply send all that steel up there via rail or sea. Its almost like they want to make a big scene.

Wait I thought it was official story that wtc7 was a controlled demolition? I was under the impression that the nyc or port authority officials had requested that wtc7 be brought down in a controlled manner since they were afraid there was structural problems and didnt want it to collapse unexpectedly and in an unsafe manner.
