Nope. Sorry to burst your bubble guys and girls. There is no evidence or proof to say there is a God. In fact after having watched a heap of documentaries on the subject, read some books, blogs, forums etc it's safe to say there isn't or has been a God. The concept of God and Jesus is just simply a control tool and hope of life beyond our death. That's it!!!

Now all this bull about statements like 'God commands you to kill gays'? Get a life! Who cares if someone is gay or not. As long as they don't try to shaft me when I bend down in the public showers!

Well I give you credit on the churches are corrupt. The bible even says the churches were corrupt when Jesus went to the temple and seen the money changers selling there b.s. at the temple. How best shall we determine if there is a god or not? Shall we ask the people of Planet Earth? If done then we will learn that the People of Planet Earth not only believe in a god, but many believe in gods.

The minority opinion on this has much more ground to cover before one can say "there is no god" and expect the rest of humanity to bow down and salute your feelings on the subject.

Although I agree with everything you said, stevcolx, is this thread REALLY necessary?

Both sides (believers of the bible and the other side consisting of atheist, agnostics, and countless other religions) won't change their mind no matter how many times this discussion happens, save for a few exceptions.

It seems you want to start an argument with the believers just for the heck of it, now why would you do that?

lol tell me how you think there is a god! Where is the proof? The bible? A simple book with legends and stories.

I started this thread because I was sick of all the other threads. like 'Jesus is the only way'. And I was thinking.....What? What Jesus? Jesus is a fictional character. He never existed.

What's the point of asking about Jesus and God? They are simply personifications of the stars and the sun.

I work overseas in a predominately Muslim state. All the guys do is nag me into praying for God and Jesus. All I keep saying to them is sorry I don't believe. But they keep at me. I keep telling them God doesn't and has never existed. And their argument is? Someone has to have created the human race and all things living. Well that's as maybe. But it wasn't what they think....GOD.

We are probably hybrids of an Alien race I said. But they will then say GOD created Aliens too.

Now is that control or what? Control of 'GOD is the one who created us'. God is your commander. God tells you what to do. Like that Ramadan bull. God tells u to do it so u do. Not me mate. There are no lightning bolts raining down on me because I don't do what 'God' commands me to do!!!

If you read my post carefully you would see that I make no such claim that there is a God.

This is what I said on the matter.

Now since you made the claim that there isn't a God, please provide the irrefutable proof you have of this.

Most of what constitutes religion is a farce. The word religion is man made.

But I am not a Darwinist and before the Big Bang were there other Big Bangs light eons away? Questions that is all I have, but my gut tells me there is omnipotence. That is totally different to religion and control.

Look at the multi-levelled laws which bind the physical universe together.

Look at the delicately balanced multi-layered eco-systems that exist on this planet.

Take a moment to think about the incredible complexity of your body, and the hundreds of different interacting parts that operate to allow you to exist.

Then notice on this planet alone that their are thousands of different models for life, some with tools completely alien in function and design to those that make up your body.

You laugh at me because I believe in a god.

I cry for you because of the ignorance you inflict upon yourself ,through refusing to see past your valid hatred of organized religion.

You are right to believe that there is no old man on a cloud telling you how to live your life, now for your own sake try and keep discovering things beyond that.
