Can anyone get a better look at the badge (ID card) on the left arms of both men on the picture added by the original poster?

Badges in a clear armband are a common DOD contractor way of saying, "DON'T MISTAKE ME FOR THE WRONG GUY!"

Actually I take back the quote...What it should say is "I belong here..."

This # is seriously messed up. I honestly want to do something now more than ever about EVERYTHING that is wrong and messed up with this country, the leaders, the elite, the illumanti, and whoever else is conspiring with them.

How can we sit back and allow our rights to be taken from us? We are LIVING human beings who deserve the same dignity and respect as anyone else does, but what do you all see happening, or more so what has BEEN happening, around the globe? A bunch of lies from deceitful bastards who use the MSM to try to control us. We are united as one if we stand together and start a new revolution against our governments!

WHY are we just sitting here posting comments when we COULD BE out doing something about all of this? It really pains me to see nothing being done.

G-20 security officials took responsibility for a video Friday afternoon that seemed to depict US troops ‘kidnapping’ a protester.

The military was not involved in the incident, but G-20 security did acknowledge detaining an a protester they said was believed to be vandalizing a store.

he police reaction to the protests has been marked by what antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan calls “profound overkill.”

“I have been to dozens of protests, large and small, since my son was killed in Iraq, but I have never seen anything like today,” Sheehan writes. “There were easily two cops/soldiers for every one of us protesters or maybe even 3 to 1.”

Sheehan also witnessed the National Guard troops working with the local police and comments, “Seeing the National Guard troops, fresh from Iraq, broke my heart the hardest. I also talked to dozens of them, none had ever heard of posse commitatus, and asked them if my son, their brother, died in Iraq so they could steal the rights of his mother. Most of them wouldn’t even look at me.”

Thanks for finding and posting that

From that article:

“Military members supporting the G20 Summit work with local law enforcement authorities but do not have the authority to make arrests. The individuals involved in the 9/24/09 arrest which has appeared online are law enforcement officers from a multi-agency tactical response team assigned to the security operations for the G20. It is not unusual for tactical team members to wear camouflaged fatigues. The type of fatigues the officers wear designates their unit affiliation.

Prior to the arrest, the officers observed this subject vandalizing a local business. Due to the hostile nature of the crowd, officer safety and the safety of the person under arrest, the subject was immediately removed from the area.”

The video has now made Drudge. Maybe it will get some legs [now] and more info will come out. Or more video - since there were so many taking footage.

The video was featured this morning at the Drudge Report under the heading, “SEE U.S. MILITARY SNATCH PROTESTER…rawstory.com...

Whose to say I'm not doing anything? I would love to join together with others who share the same ethics and morals that I have and do something about what is going on around the world. Hopefully it will happen... very very soon.

Staged.
Plain and simple. It's of course the schematic to get the others to revolt violently thus causing them to look loony, unprepared, and downright just crazy.
It's those black anarchist operatives that are setup to distract from the real protest. Well done by the real protesters to not get caught up in the upheaval, they do this all the time. Them being the CIA..etc

**MUTE POINT NOW WITH THE REPORT THEY WERE LAW ENFORCEMENT IN MILITARY STYLE GARB**

Alright sorry if it has been pointed out...

Three different uniforms there. The driver is wearing an old Marine uniform, he rolled his sleeves in the style of a Marine, but plants were un-bloused.

The large black guy is wearing an outdated Army/Air Force uniform. Although these uniforms are still in use, most people have the new ones if in the Air Force and the Army no longer wears them. The 3rd guy in the scene was wearing what looked like an Army uniform, but couldn't really tell.

Now, I've seen some shady stuff while in the military, but never a uniform without the following: Name plate, service plate, chevrons of some sort (or insignia on the collars), and blatant disregard for uniform standards.

I am not fully convinced one way or the other on this one though. Many factors point out to a possibly staged theatrics moment but then again sometimes its not always what we think...my mind stays open to this

Is the military now so underfunded they can't spare military vehicles for snatches, or they can't buy costumes for snatch squads so they can blend in with anarchists? Maybe the grab looks amatuerish because we are no longer a rich country.

I agree with you on that. I think it's law enforcement, just stupidly wearing difficult to identify duds.

Confirmed hoax, but then some people will believe anything But then invariably the people who think this is real, and the ones who think 9/11 was staged.

Please qualify your statement with a source to prove that you're not a disinformation agent.

How/where was this "confirmed" as a hoax? I have looked and I haven't found anything that shows that this event was a hoax. If you say something is "confirmed" you better back up your statement with a source or else you are just being a liar.

so some police contractors dress up in army gear and snatch a guy from the street in front of a hostile crowd - they drive him then to another open area surrounded by more protestors amd get the guy out of the car and reenact the arrest rather than taking him to a secure facilty....

why?

I'm not in america, nor am have i been tasked with trying to understand and predict the rioters - i can however tell you that many people there are angry about the classic civil libertys being eroded, a very obvious one being that the army cant be the police. It seems logically that people might not like seeing this??!?!?

I would have made the people who do snatch and grabs dress as anything but the army - heck dress as clowns if you want but seriously pretending to be army while people are protesting about the army being used on civilians is either very stupid or very sly.

I would have tasked someone with standing facing the crowd shouting in a clear tone 'we are police arresting a wanted suspect, this is for everyones safety do not interfer or panic' until the car was safe. If not uniformed police then security uniformed agents would perform the task, this is not a war zone - it certainly isn't a desert full of snipers, that silly army camo isn't going to help aything but it could and did cause great issues, it could have created a flashpoint which cased a riot.

The style this was done in was stupid, it's another example of either or both the over active adrenal glands which seem to control police forces all over the world and the subtle social control mechanisms which governments are trying to perfect tp keep their citizens in line.

There are far too many possible reasons and double games for this event to have happened, occam would most likely head towards stupidity being the answer but i just don't quite buy that as a full answer. I would suggest that maybe it's nothing more than mud in the water, someone high ranking and smart knows that the more clowdy the water the harder it is for people to see to the bottom of issues. First it seems like the army are breaking the law but then it turns out it was only the police dressed as the army, suddenly everyone thinks it's is fine if its only the police dressed as the army - of course soon we'll be hearing that police often dress as the army so why not let the real army help too, etc, etc.

i wouldn't even be shocked to find out that the uniforms were wrong on purpose and people on sites like this and in the blogosphere were primed to point this out, the more debate over if they were army or only people dressed as army the more people get the idea the police are almost the same as the army only slightly less well trained... Thus those people are more likely later to think, sure we got police doing all this stuff why not have the pro's helping them?

but of course good work those who did notice the uniforms all on your own, you're part of the reason ATS is the best conspiracy site on the web.

Wow. (and Wow! - I am editing for my OWN content here...)

1. My gut reaction: Fake..
Here's my FIRST post in full:

---------

I am a skeptic and lurk in the UFO threads all the time.
All I can say is that clearly faked videos don't get this far in the UFO threads.
Hilarious really.

These guys all have different styles, types and ages of uniform. And as for their acting prowess... don't expect to be in District 9 anytime soon.

These are guys doing it purely for publicity, to get all kinds of fringe types all excited.

I mean... get real people... I have seen a whole bunch of horrible activities on video, and there is some pretty bad stuff out there.. but this is ham acting, even the gloves of the police are clearly their own gloves.
Good grief.

Can someone move this off the home page.

If this were a UFO thread it'd get blasted in about 5 minutes... there is just so much evidence that it is faked that it hardly warrants a response.

Final Comment:
"Hey - let's arrest some dude and let the cameraman film us all doing it... and show our faces on tv."

Anyway - it's good for a laugh on a Friday, but only really serves to make ATS look silly.

Can someone find the source, the film maker, or some of these characters on the screen please. So that this can be removed from the ATS home page.

UFO skeptic - OUT.
Going back to our seemingly sane forum now...

--------

And here's my OWN edit...

2. Very Possibly Real: Police Arrest...

Okay - so I look at the video and it screams fake... but when I look around on the web, I have to say that it's beginning to look like this could be a Police Arrest, and that these are Police dressed in fatigues... and not in their normal uniforms.

Summary:
Possibly Police in fatigues arresting a guy
Therefore the reason for such bad outfits
They do not carry out any normal procedures... they don't even take his backpack
Therefore they make it look fake, because they look... well... fake!
If that's the case - then I stand corrected.
However - it does not seem to be military... it seems like police...
