First off let me say thanks to ATS for providing the site. It is a great opportunity to "sound board" ideas off one another.
I have been on the site about a week now and figured it was time to say hi. I live in Corpus Christi, TX. Lived in NE Oklahoma (as you will see in
some of my post) until my dad passed away when I was a teen and I moved down here. Been here sense except for a brief period of time back in Oklahoma
helping my sister and 5 years in the Army. I am interested in almost anything that is outside the ordinary at this point. My main focus is in
paranormal (specifically hauntings or the like) and unknown animals (bigfoot primarily). The only things I do not get into are politics and military.
Being a Vet I don't find a reason I belong there. I did not question my orders when I was active, why start now? That being said I appreciate that
ATS offers a environment that we can all have our own views and I chose to withhold mine on those topics. As far as who I am personality wise I feel
I am a skeptical believer. Let me elaborate. I believe that anything is possible and is worth looking into. However I approach everything with
"prove it" on my mind. I do this because even if I am convinced I have to be able to back it up with proof. My only dislike in this regards is
those who would be considered
"close minded". I hope I will become a valuable contributer among the forums and hopefully with everyone working together we can contribute to the
answer.
Hope you enjoy the ride because this site is addictive and you find yourself following all kinds of paths, even the ones you would never think would
interest you.
Thank you. Corpus is a great city (be it small but a city) with a lot of history. I find it to be forgotten among cities here in TX though. With
Houston, San Antonio, Brownsville, Austin, Dallas/Ft. Worth and Amarillo everyone forgets about little Corpus sitting down here getting older. Places
in the area worth mentioning would be San Patricio (exceptional historic landmarks with ties to the paranormal) and the open fields between here and
the valley (many claims of chupacabbra).
I am also a newby here and a Vet. This site will definitely feed your mind and you will learn many new things searching for answers. Lets just
say being a member here has brought a new meaning to the phrase "Dare to be Different." look forward to seeing you on the boards.
Spent a little over a week in Corpus this summer. Had a BLAST!
Spent almost an entire day on the Lexington. That was awesome.
Waited until night before leaving to actually go swimming and could have kicked myself for not doing it everyday. We were on the Bay side. It was
great.
Add a little dancing on the beach at night by full moon & crazy sand castle we built.
Thanks for the reply. Glad to see others that find this city interesting.
Guru97,
I Thank you for your reply and for being a Vet as well. Sometimes those words can make all the difference. As for the site it is a great place to
explore all alternative explanations to the answers we are seeking. See you on the boards.
Corpus is a good place to visit when you can. Sometime it is even better to leave it. LOL
W.i.t.S,
Thanks for the welcome. H-town is not far at all. I have a lot of friends I went to school with that live there now. Fact is most of them say
they will never move back here after living there.
