Hello, Im listening to a web radio show here, and they say they just heard about a captain and another high ranked ships mate dying today after getting Swine Flu vaccines about two weeks ago !!!

It seems to be hushed down and it is believed the ship has docked and the bodies may be tried smugled of the ship.....

By the way, I have no idea if this is related or not, but since I'm failry new and cannot start a new thread I will add it here.

I work for a school system in the US and the Health Department will be coming to our school to vaccinate our students against the regular flu. The vaccine is not mandatory, parents must sign a form allowing the vaccine, but the letter strongly urges the vaccine and assures everyone the vaccine is perfectly safe. As far as I'm aware, this is the first time they've given free vaccines to the students in my district. It is not the H1N1 vaccine, just the regular flu, but still makes me wonder.... any thoughts?

My Dad was a CPO in the Navy so I googled on instinct I guess...

Thanks also to liveandlearn for that link to the other ATS thread. Seems this is about the same case, but the web-based references are expanding and perhaps the truth will actually come out. (Well, we can hope! )

Love to catch the Rense show but I'm in the wrong time zone. Already nearly 11pm here and I have to get up in the morning. (Sigh!)

I'll check back in about 8 hrs from now. If anyone gets any new data please post. This whole swine flu vaccine thing is a major issue and we need every crumb of knowledge we can get.

Hi smyleegrl and welcome to ATS!

Okay down to business: we have been getting reports on various threads of "unusual" behaviour by health officials in this regard, namely offering vaccinations where previously they didn't and so forth, along with some reports of vaccinations being made mandatory.

The thing that bothers me when they say that the vaccine is perfectly safe is the fact that it's not true: no virus vaccine is 100% safe and there is always a percentage of people who suffer side effects, even including quite severe reactions such a developing Guillain-Barre syndrome -- and (rarely) deaths. It doesn't have to be the killed or live virus agent that does the harm either. The fact is that some people will be allergic to something in the vaccine and can be affected by that rather than the actual active agent itself. This is especially so for people who have severe allergies to chicken eggs. These side effects are one reason that the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program exists in the USA, with influenza vaccines being one of the vaccines covered by it (as shown in the page I've linked to).

They wouldn't have set up an injury compensation program if vaccines were perfectly safe, so this is an issue I would raise with any concerned parents or staff, and give them the link to the above-noted site. This letter you referred to that states the vaccine is perfectly safe is misleading parents by not providing full disclosure of the known medical facts.

My thoughts in this case? I would be wary; I have not had a flu shot since I was old enough to make that decision for myself. Perhaps I am wrong in making that choice but at least it's my choice to make. In regards to children, I am concerned that things may move from parents signing a consent for their children to be vaccinated, to having to sign a waiver/refusal if they don't wish it, to mandatory vaccinations for children no matter what the parents wish -- which has also been mooted in some threads here.

This is from CBSNews back in July. Apparently that is when the outbreak was first known.

(AP) A group of Navy ships is under quarantine after several dozen sailors and Marines on board tested positive for swine flu.

Health officials say at least 69 people had been confirmed with the virus, and all of them have since recovered.

Navy officials say they are now quarantining an undetermined number of crew members with flulike symptoms on four ships that are part of the USS Boxer Amphibious Ready Group, which arrived in Hawaii on Friday. The ships are docked at or near Pearl Harbor.

Thousands of sailors and Marines from the ships are currently on leave in Hawaii, but Cmdr. Dora Lockwood says no one with flulike symptoms has been allowed to go on shore.

As I searched I found out this group took part in the rescue of the US Cargo ship captain captured by Somalia Pirates last April.

1. Unnamed US Navy vessel put to sea in April with 347 man crew.

2. Entire crew was vaccinated with H1N1 Swine Flu vaccine shortly after they put to sea.

3. Crew sickened so severely that other ships had to respond to render aid. 16 Medical Dr.s put aboard from an unnamed aircraft carrier and other responding vessels. Total of 50 Navy personnel sent aboard to respond to crisis.

4. Two of the crew of 347 died – including the Captain of the ship (a Lieutenant Commander) and a Chief Petty Officer.

5. 50 personnel sent aboard to help are quarantined in Navy hospital in Balboa, Spain after 10 of them caught the flu from the ship’s crew. Two of the 50 quarantined are in serious condition at last report.

6. Of the 347 man crew that were vaccinated, 333 contracted the H1N1 flu FROM THE VACCINE. Two died, as mentioned above, and 331 survived. Only 14 of the 347 vaccinated sailors did not show any ill effects from the vaccine.

7. Navy has threatened all the spouses of the ship’s crew to remain silent – claiming all this information is classified. Some are whistle-blowing and that is where this information is coming from.

8. On the unnamed aircraft carrier that provided assistance, 415 sailors contracted the swine flu and are currently quarantined onboard.

I have a thread up that address how to get out of the shot if you’re military.
I suggest you read it if you are US military. A hint just go to your primary care doctor and get a note I got one from mine and now no h1n1 shot for me.

I haven't looked since yesterday but I find it interesting that there has been no mention in the news of this ship's homecoming. Considering their participation in the rescue of the Captain taken by the Somali pirates. This is not the norm. Seems all information has been shut down.

This can't be good I would guess most men on a navy ship would be in good shape?

I was just reading another thread about fat people being more prone to die from this flu. I wonder if the vaccine could have a negative effect on them
