Ok i have no scientific info, but this has always bugged me about Global warming. I do not disagree with the process, but tell me if im incorrect, how can the ice melting cause flooding, when the ice already raised the sea level in just being there. To explain, if you put an ice cube in a glass of water, the level will raise, but the ice melts it will not raise no more. Surely this is the same scenario, on a much larger scale.

If i am wrong, then feel free to tell me why

Antarctica contains 70% of the world's fresh water (90% of the world's ice) but crucially sits atop land unlike the Arctic where the ice floats atop the ocean.

The action of the moon on the increased water level would increase tidal surges and flooding and obvious sea level .

Thats a lot of water locked up in the ice .

Not to mention glacial melting on land in other parts of the world. . We are not just talking about flooding in coastal areas either. The influx of melted ice will also raise the water table causing flooding in areas not previously known to flood.
