Something about instruments!

Would anyone like to explain to me why stringed instruments in particular leave me in a trance/high/altered state? I did a quick search on Google but am having a hard time finding anything.

It's the vibrations my friend.
Violins are the best to listen too

The neat thing about the strings on a guitar is that they are tuned with phi, I recommend researching that number, you may find some answers. Plus music activates the right hemisphere of your brain, that should send you in a state of nirvana

I am a music producer/composer. And I know what you mean.
I think it differs between people on which instrument or 'sound' hits the right snare for them.

Personally I am touched by deep heavy classical works. But there is nothing better than playing your own music before a 5000 people crowd haha ...thats like going trough the roof!

One of the best things I have ever done was learned how to play violin, I could sit and play or listen to it being played all day and be just as happy.

Check out Nocturne for violin and piano (Chopin) that song always gets me, it has a lot of emotion in it. ( for me at least )
